Fargo got shut out at the Golden Globes, but it got some love from the wholly irrelevant Critics’ Choice Awards, where it won four awards, including Best TV Movie/Limited Series, and Best Actress in a TV Movie/Limited Series, for Kirsten Dunst. I’m not even a Kirsten Dunst fan, and I thought she was pretty goddamned brilliant on Fargo. Full Story

Unless you’re a Little Monster, you know, come on you know, we all agree here that Kirsten Dunst was robbed, right? The Hollywood Foreign Press Association can’t resist a pop star. See also Madonna. But it’s OK. Kiki’s career is a quarter century. Brad Pitt’s a few tables away, maybe trying not to look at her dress and remember that he kissed her with her hair in ringlets. Full Story

Fargo Season 2 Episode 10 season finale recap  SPOILERS Thankfully, Betsy Solverson didn’t die last episode, and though obviously very weak and not well, she hangs on until Lou finally makes it home. Betsy opens the episode, telling us about a dream she had of the future, which brings back Allison Tolman as grown Molly Solverson, Colin Hanks as Gus Grimly, and Keith Carradine as older Lou. Full Story

Fargo Season 2, Episode 7 recap. Fargo has been renewed for a third season, which is great news, but who knows what it will be about. It’ll be another limited series, which probably means a whole new cast. Will it be about the rise of the Gerhardts in the 1950s? Or the Solversons at some midpoint between 1979 and 2006? Who knows! I’m super into a third season but right now I’m more concerned with the bodies piling up in 1979. Full Story

Fargo Season 2 Episode 6 Recap Every week I think Fargo can’t get any better, AND THEN IT DOES. I almost love this show as much as I love Justified, and I love Justified more than some members of my family. One thing we haven’t talked about yet are the recurring UFOs this season. Rye Gerhardt saw strange lights in the sky over Luverne—referencing a famous 1979 Minnesota UFO sighting Full Story

Fargo Season 2 Episode 5 recap Noreen The Morose Butcher Shop Girl is my new favorite character—her favorite holiday is Halloween and she’s latched onto Camus and his “we all die eventually” philosophy. Previously, Noreen has only been seen at the butcher shop with Ed Blomquist, parroting “okay then” like a simple-minded cockatiel, but this week Noreen steps into the spotlight. Full Story

Fargo Season 2, Episode 3 recap No one told a story this week on Fargo, but there was a lot of reminiscing. Peggy recalls a cousin who had a melanoma, and Lou Solverson and Ben Schmidt don’t bond over common experiences from Vietnam, and throughout the episode echoes of past meetings color the present. Full Story

Drop Dead Murder

Kirsten Dunst has never been my favorite, but Drop Dead Gorgeous is one of my all-time favorite movies. I bring this up because Dunst stars in season two of FX’s crime anthology, Fargo, and hearing her Minnesota accent is giving me fond Drop Dead Gorgeous memories. That movie is perfect. And season one of Fargo is damn near perfect, which, considering its source material is the Coen Brothers movie, is actually a huge feat. Full Story

It was only a half Brange at the Unbroken premiere last night but there were other Unbroken couple on the carpet. First… Miyavi, with the most gorgeous bone structure to rival Alexander Wang, his wife Melody, and their daughters Lovelie and Jewelie. These children. And their hair! I have some hair. Full Story
