Today Chanel released the campaign for three new bags starring three celebrity ambassadors, Vanessa Paradis, Kristen Stewart, and Alice Dallal.
F-ck. I’m in love. Especially with the Girl, which Vanessa is modelling on her bare back. It’s an outrageous purchase for a civilian to make it your work bag but look at it. It’s the perfect work bag. Everything can fit. And it doesn’t look like it would be heavy.
Alice’s bag is the one that interests me the least. I don’t think it’s so special that it has to be CHANEL and not a knockoff.
But Kristen Stewart’s bag is probably the best investment. This beautiful thing will never, ever, ever be out of style. EVER. I think I might need this for my birthday. Interesting though that they styled her with longer hair and not the funky bob she’s been wearing lately. I’m not sure it makes a difference with the blazer and the pencil skirt and certainly not the pose. That’s a pretty badass pose no matter what the length of the hair.
That said, maybe the longer, shaggier cut “grows her up” a little? At the Cesar Film Awards a couple of weeks ago, where she won Best Supporting Actress, the short hair with the white strapless dress was all “girl”. Note, though, the difference a few days later at the Chanel pre-Oscar party, in the white skirt. Totally different vibe, right?
Stewart and the brand are merging into a really interesting fit. MUCH more interesting than Blake Lively and Chanel…which, as we know now, didn’t work. And perhaps just as interesting as when Vanessa started with Chanel two decades ago. It’s feeling like that kind of relationship too, non?
