Duana Names: A Totally New Question

Duana Posted by Duana at July 27, 2015 18:28:25 July 27, 2015 18:28:25

Hi Duana We are pregnant, and while I would love to find out the gender ASAP hubby would love it to be a surprise until birth, so I will do that for him. I figure between conceding that PLUS giving birth he will owe me big time!  We are lucky to have agreed on both a girl's name *and* boy's name. Full Article

Duana Names: I finally titled a column Mamma Mia

Hi! Husband and I are due late August with our first babe, we are waiting to find out the sex. We are set on a girls name, his grandma that he was very close to was named Maria, and everyone called her Mika. So we are set on Mika for a girl. My middle name is Marie, and my grandma's name is Rose-Marie, so originally I was thinking Marie for a middle name. Full Article

Hi!  Remember me? First I need to apologize that it’s taken me this long to acknowledge my MIA-ness. The short and long of it is I’ve been going through some sh-t, some health sh-t that I’ve been dealing with for the better part of a year. So I needed some time off work and some time off the site to figure it all out. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I ran my first 5k last year and after a few progressively longer races (including the Nike Toronto 15k of which I'm SUPER proud), I'm now training for a half-marathon in the fall. I try to run 3 times a week and use the NTC app to squeeze in 1 targeted workout daily, even if it's only 15 mins or so. Full Article

Duana Names: A ‘Choose Your Own’ Adventure

Hi Duana, I'm a trans woman in the process of transitioning. I'm trying to work out a name that starts with E or L (though not opposed to others!). I also have an interesting surname (Winter) that makes things difficult. I also want to shy away from more masculine names, and I like names that have a more feminine ring to them, such as names with the -ia sound. Full Article

Love the colour combination happening here. Pink that sometimes looks light purple and slashes of yellow. Beautiful. Just… the fit of the dress is a problem, a little? It’s Dior. And I wonder if it’s just a matter of pulling the halter up higher or whether the construction above the waist is just sh-tty. Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Diane’s mixed print short jacket

I’m all for mixing prints. And these two prints are fine together, no problem. I just feel like there’s too much of the print on the bottom. Like if we could reverse the situation, and have the floral print on her body, and the chain link as the jacket, I feel like it would have been more visually pleasing. Full Article

Hi Hayley, A couple of years ago, I lost about 45 pounds by overhauling my lifestyle - I cut back on processed foods, increased my intake of good foods and started exercising on a regular basis - I started off with cardio, then eventually incorporated strength training into my routine. It took about two years in total, but I reached my goal weight. Full Article

Hi Duana This may be an unusual request in that we've already picked both of our names. My boyfriend and I ended on a stellar boy name after some dicey negotiating that included a serious bid from him for Hedwig (for a boy...). The girl name was much easier. My family has this awesome tradition of passing down maternal names. Full Article
