Duana Names: Can An Adult Change Names?

Duana Posted by Duana at May 8, 2015 17:44:35 May 8, 2015 17:44:35

Hi Duana, I love reading your Name Nerd column! I find it fascinating how names have certain connotations/perceptions and how this spills over to personality formation, career developments, etc... In my situation, my legal name first name is Tri, middle name is Duc, last name is Luong. My full legal name makes it obvious that I am of Asian heritage. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I'd love to get your advice on how much cardio I need in my exercise routine please. I'm currently doing 2-3 boot camp sessions a week, plus maybe one pilates and one yoga class. I'm generally happy with how I look, even though I'm carrying a couple of extra kilos since having kids which I would ideally like to shed, but I'm aware I don't have the diligence to do this - I don't want to give up the occasional treat like wine or dark chocolate. Full Article

Last night while out training for the Nike Women’s 15km race in Toronto, I picked up the intensity of my workout and added in a 15 minute High Intensity Training session at the half way point of my run. This is something that, if you are a runner and you do not already supplement your running with strength training, I suggest you try adding to your runs once or twice a week. Full Article

I love this… what do you call it? …sheath that Ciara’s wearing. And I think I’m noticing it BECAUSE she’s wearing it over white wide leg pants. Which I’m not sure I would because I’m short. But on her, it’s such a striking look with the straight hair parted down the middle. Full Article

Duana Posted by Duana at May 6, 2015 18:17:35 May 6, 2015 18:17:35

Duana, please help! I'm expecting my second in early May. We don't know if it will be a boy or girl. We have one daughter named Eliza, which is a pretty special name in my family. I thought it was unusual when we picked it almost 5 years ago, but now I realize it's getting a bit trendy. Full Article

Not usually into an all-sequined dress. First of all, it’s uncomfortable. And second, they’re usually really revealing, like for office Christmas parties. This one though, because of the high collar and the sleeves, feels more like a long sweater. And the pattern detail too. I love it. Full Article

Hi Haley, I've been working out for a few years now and been trying to figure out what works for my body and what doesn't. More recently, I've been noticing quite a lot of "8 week fitness challenges" popping up by fitness girls on Instagram. Are they healthy to be doing and what are your opinion on fitness challenges? Are they a sustainable way to achieve your health and body goals? Thanks, J ___ Here's the thing - you really cannot accomplish anything unless you challenge yourself to do so. Full Article
