Obstacle races are becoming the big thing right now and I have to say that I am a fan of that! They are events that anyone can participate in and you can make them as serious as you like. I love the buzz around the city when Tough Mudder rolls into Whistler and I get so excited to see so many people challenging themselves and having a good time. Full Article

Hi Hayley, I recently ran the BMO half-marathon here in Vancouver and now I'm gearing up for the Lululemon Seawheeze in August. What's the best way to train between now and then? Do I scale back my long runs and ramp them up slowly like I would if I were starting from scratch, or keep running long distances and work on upping my pace? For reference, I've run two half-marathons ever: one last year with a time of 1:51 and the one this past weekend with a time of 1:42. Full Article

Duana Names: Badass Potentials

Duana Posted by Duana at June 12, 2014 16:42:35 June 12, 2014 16:42:35

Hi Duana! I'm pregnant with boy and I would love your input. Basically, the criteria is really different and kind of badass without sounding like we're trying too hard (so nothing along the Jett, Axl, Ace lines). Our last name begins with a T and ends in -er, so preferably nothing that matches either of those, although I'm not dead set against it if we found something awesome. Full Article

I LOVE this dress. I think we might be fighting. We’re probably fighting. How can we be fighting? Because if it were anyone else, I’d be disgusted. You’re right. But it’s not. It’s SJP. And I’m really into the way the sleeves are falling off her shoulder. And I imagine it must be really comfortable. Full Article

Smutty Fitness: Sporty Sunscreen

Hayley Posted by Hayley at June 11, 2014 15:12:49 June 11, 2014 15:12:49

Hi Hayley, I have a quick question for a sunscreen recommendation. I am a long-time runner who recently moved to Florida from Montreal. In Canada, I had typically exercised in the early evening, but lately this hasn't been possible and I've been running around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, sometimes earlier. Full Article

Duana Names: Analysing the popularity of names

Duana Posted by Duana at June 10, 2014 16:27:19 June 10, 2014 16:27:19

Dear Duana, I just recently found out that I’m pregnant, and am already excitedly combing through the list of favorite names I’ve been keeping for the last couple years! As someone with an unusual name (and I always liked being the only one with my name in my class or workplace), I would like my child to have a similarly uncommon name, as long as it isn’t too complicated to spell and pronounce. Full Article

Sasha Finds…herself on Etsy and an Etsy Giveaway

Sasha Posted by Sasha at June 10, 2014 15:55:31 June 10, 2014 15:55:31

I don’t want to say that I discovered Etsy, but I discovered Etsy.  I've been pimping the site from inception and since then it’s been my go-to for everything from vintage shoes to bundles of sage. Seriously, that’s what so great about the site: versatility.  Pretty much anything you could ever want is on there. Full Article
