Hi sasha, can you pleeease help me find a cute cut-out shoulder tops for the summer? L ___ Don’t hate me, but I have to be honest -- I really really don’t love this look, but L, I’m going to suck up my own dickhead feelings and find you something you love! While this isn’t my favorite style I do think it can look cool if you vibe it out like a 90s fly girl. Full Article

Duana Names: Such A Thing As Too Much Irish?

Duana Posted by Duana at May 30, 2013 18:02:52 May 30, 2013 18:02:52

Hi Duana. I'm 5 months pregnant with my second son. Our first is named Declan. (You can imagine how excited I was when it came up in your column as a possible recommendation!) I agree with you on the Irish boys name front. They are cool but, if called on it (I've honestly been asked if I "made up" Declan, for real), you can reference centuries of history to show how tried and true and actually classic the names are. Full Article

I am generally not into peep-toes. Sandals are sandals, pumps are pumps. Peep-toes to me are like the El Camino of shoes. But that’s just me. I understand that peep-toes are considered stylish. Mostly. A bootie peep-toe? Sasha has mentioned the cut-out trend for shoes this year. I can handle it better on the sides. Full Article

Hi Hayley, Following up on your last two posts, I was hoping you could elaborate a bit more on strength training. Specifically, what are your thoughts on using good ol' gym weight machines? I read (on the Internet... if that counts) that free weights or cross-fit is better, that machines train the wrong range of motions, etc. Full Article

Sasha Answers: My soul mate doesn’t want to be my soul mate

Sasha Posted by Sasha at May 28, 2013 18:38:29 May 28, 2013 18:38:29

Hey Sasha, So, I met this guy a month ago and I had never believed in soul mates until I met him. We could talk for hours together, have an excessive amount of things in common, and are super super attracted to each other. Things were looking bright. Then, one day out if the blue he tells me he can't do it anymore. Full Article

Duana Names: My Best Friend’s Moniker

Duana Posted by Duana at May 28, 2013 17:34:32 May 28, 2013 17:34:32

Hey Duana, I have a question about naming kids after friends.  Is this an awkward thing?  Like if you idolize a particular friend or role model or something, and name your kid after her or him, do you think it's too big of a gesture, or might make the friend / role model uncomfortable?  For the purposes of this discussion, assume there's a long and strong friendship in place already. Full Article
