Carpets & Candids: Katharine’s shoe choice

Had it been any pair of heels, no matter what, I would have hated this outfit. An animal print wrap dress is stale at best, and borderline offensive depending on the wearer. Pairing it with flat black trainers however, at least, makes it much more interesting. And, surprisingly, Katharine McPhee can get away with it. Full Article

Smutty Fitness: Cold Weather Running

Hayley Posted by Hayley at January 7, 2013 14:05:11 January 7, 2013 14:05:11

I'm a fairly active 30 year old - I do yoga a few times a week plus hit the gym about twice per week. I've been contemplating signing up for a half-marathon, but don't think I can quite stomach outdoor winter running to train for it. I know I could wait for a fall run to train during the summer, but I have previously signed up for, and not completed, the half-marathon that is held annually in May here in Toronto, so I'd like that to be my goal (plus, I think it would be a great way to get in shape for the summer!). Full Article

Is this a preview of what we’ll see from Kerry if she attends the award shows to represent Django? If so, I’m excited. Love this Peter Pilotto on her from the SS2013 collection – click here to see the full runway. Really hope they continue to pull interesting pieces like this for her. Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Helen in purple leather

Lainey Posted by Lainey at January 4, 2013 14:02:00 January 4, 2013 14:02:00

Can’t lie – I don’t love this shade of purple. Especially when it’s so matchy matchy. Also not feeling the shade of pasty white flesh she’s wearing on her shoes. Not that it’s a bad look overall – Helen is, as usual, elegant and sophisticated – but she’s a lot more stylish than this – an outfit that pretty much shouts that it’s been put together “for a woman of a certain age”. Full Article

Smutty Fitness: A sports bra for the small-busted

Hayley Posted by Hayley at January 3, 2013 19:04:24 January 3, 2013 19:04:24

This is for all of us small-busted girls out there who feel like wearing a sports bra is like wearing a tensor bandage around our ribcage and that they do nothing for us but create one small uniboob (which is even more depressing for those of us who are single and need all the help we can get when trying to talk to the cute guy working out beside us…right?). Full Article

Smutty Fitness: Goals and working backwards

Hayley Posted by Hayley at January 3, 2013 14:24:23 January 3, 2013 14:24:23

Hi! I am back from a week of holiday over-indulging with friends and loved ones and like most of you I am 2 days into my “resolutions”. We all make resolutions each year and correct me if I am wrong but 3 weeks into the New Year we find our new routines quickly forgotten and have all resorted back to our old habits. Full Article

Duana Names: Are We Pretentious?

Duana Posted by Duana at January 2, 2013 13:53:23 January 2, 2013 13:53:23

Hi Duana, What do you think of using another culture's name? I love the Italian spelling of Luisa, but my partner and I are both Scandinavian. Pretentious? ___ The whole point of having a “global village” or whatnot is so that you can expose yourself to more than what exists within your small social circle. Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Jessica’s turquoise earrings

Lainey Posted by Lainey at January 2, 2013 13:47:12 January 2, 2013 13:47:12

Turquoise earrings seem to always print... especially when they pop as brilliantly as they do on someone like Jessica Chastain. Think too of Cameron Diaz at the Met Gala a few years ago. She’ll forever be remembered for it, in a good way. Turquoise earrings don’t work on me so I’m always jealous seeing them on others, like Duana, who wears them beautifully. Full Article

Duana Names: Charlie and Daisy?

My husband and I are expecting, a girl this time. We have a son named Charles George (Charlie), named after both of my grandfathers.
