I first saw this dress from behind. And was interested. It’s the cap sleeve. I’ll always care about a cap sleeve. But then she turned around and it’s a mess. How could one dress have such a different personality in the back than it does in the front. It’s like two entirely different species! Full Article

Duana Names: A Fair Amount Of ‘Huh’

Hey Duana! Well, we have a tri-cultural doozy on our hands. My husband and I are both originally from the Balkans, I grew up in Canada, he in Sweden. And Sweden is where we live now. We have a son already, and are expecting a baby girl in July. We really struggled with my son's name, it was important to us that the name was at the very least pronounceable in all three of our 'cultures' and we didn't want to settle for very traditional names, got a lot of unsolicited recommendations for Phillip, Alexander etc. Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Lea Michele’s Comic-Con cleavage

One white dress, one red dress, both plunging necklines. And she looks great, no shade. But it gets boring back to back like that, at least to me. Like, one or the other, you know? Which was probably what happened – she couldn’t decide which one was better.   Full Article

Carpets & Candids: January’s stripes and flowers

I thought, at first, this was a romper. And if it were a romper, I’d say she should have gone a size up. People have an aversion to wearing anything above their true size. And it often gets in the way of good style. I repeat: what happened to January Jones’s style?! Romper or not, these shorts could use an extra inch in length. Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Melissa’s city lights

This is a great print, a city lights photograph, perhaps, transferred to material. I love it. And it would also be great in a pair of pants. The design of this top is great too, with the two pleats coming down on each side creating some extra movement around the waist.  Full Article

Duana Names: Can Perfect Strike Twice?

Duana Posted by Duana at July 22, 2016 20:00:01 July 22, 2016 20:00:01

Hi Duana, My sister-in-law and brother are getting closer to their due date but are no closer to deciding on a name. Daughter #2 arrives this July, and although they're completely in love with their first daughter's name (Elise), they're struggling to come up with a second name that they love equally as much. Full Article

This is a great dress on Rachel Bilson. And definitely improved by the belt. If I had told you that this photo was from 2006, would you have believed me? Because I feel like it’s the same vibe –and that’s a criticism either. She’s dedicated to her style.  Full Article

I think I’ve emailed every stylist I know to join me in my search for these pants. They’re drop-crotch. So I’m in, obviously. They’re camo-print, I think? And I also think they might be sequined? Lord, please, please help me find them. They’re the most amazing pants I’ve ever seen. Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Alexa’s emoji shirt

I don’t use emojis. I know this makes me crusty ass c-nt, sorry. Anyway, this shirt on Alexa Chung is super cute. I see faces. But I feel like other people might see emojis. Which is what I’m afraid of going forward. That all the prints I like – animals, fruits, stars, etc – will be looked at as emojis. Full Article
