If this was just a blush tiered dress, I’d be bored and think it was Elie Saab. It’s the jacket that makes the entire look totally amazing. Like military with attitude, especially way the way it buttons diagonally so that the two red stripes look like bold, aggressive slashes, as if to say, don’t you dare call me “pretty”. Full Article

Duana Names: The Third Gets Four

Duana Posted by Duana at November 13, 2015 19:40:44 November 13, 2015 19:40:44

Hi Duana, We were somewhat surprised to learn that we will be having a third baby. As we have a boy and a girl already, we are really struggling with a name. Keeping up with the "surprise" theme of this baby, we have opted not to find out the gender so need suggestions for both. We have a three- syllable hyphenated last name for our children, so have opted for short (1 or 2 syllable) names for our other children, both which happen to be four letters. Full Article

Smutty Fitness: a faster 5km

Hayley Posted by Hayley at November 12, 2015 17:19:06 November 12, 2015 17:19:06

Hi Hayley, I just finished my 5th 5k in the past three years and got my best time, 29.39. In my first 5k in 2013, I ran at 34.00 minutes because I got tired and walked. If you’ve been reading my column a while you know I hate this colour. Baby blue. Insipid is the word I’d use to describe it. To me, if you have to wear baby blue, the outfit has to have some edge, to balance out its blandness. This… is not what I had in mind. A ruffled dress that looks cheap and clubby on a Saturday night. Full Article

Duana Names: Loyal Best Friend or Leading Character?

Duana Posted by Duana at November 9, 2015 19:25:36 November 9, 2015 19:25:36

Hi D, Long time fan of the blog and your column here, and I can finally use (and need!) your help. We are expecting a boy due at the end of November. We like old names that will travel well between English, Spanish and French as we are Spanish speakers but live in an international city and we will continue to do so for a while. Full Article
