Something for him, both things for me
Variety is reporting that Marion Cotillard and Colin Farrell are confirmed to work on David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis. Something about a money dude who loses all his money in one day and Marion plays his wife.
Please. It could be Dear John, I'll still go see it. Because of course as you know Colin is mine. And Marion too. And together in a movie they'll be moisting up the screen. Jacek will want to come too. Marion is #1 on his list. Which means as husband and wife we'll be watching side by side wanting side by side. Everybody wins.
It's a good move for Colin. A much better move than that Something Borrowed he was reportedly close to signing before those rumours were killed. Colin is usually into more cerebral fare. And playing a supporting character in a Kate Hudson vehicle never made much sense.
Colin and Cronenberg however - totally. Laura and I were just talking about this while we were boarding our flight to Nice. She really really enjoyed Eastern Promises. And not just the pure Viggo part. I'm more in the middle when it comes to Cronenberg. His work can be...unpalatable. Having said that, I too thought Promises was good. And the trademark tension that he's able to infuse in all his projects is undeniably electric. Throw Cotillard and Colin into that formula? It's on.
