Moonrise Kingdom opened the Cannes Film Festival. I loved it. SO MUCH. A Wes Anderson movie with heart? Indeed. There’s a lack of his usual detachment here that has been replaced by an emotion that lives closer to affection. And the critics agree. Moonrise Kingdom is scoring at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes at press time and 85% on Metacritic.

The film opens in Vancouver on Friday. There’s an advance screening on Wednesday May 30th. I have 3 pairs of tickets to give away.
