Brange was in New York today. They were photographed at Barnes & Noble shopping with Vivienne and Knox. So on top of everything else that they do, they’re keeping books in business. In two days, Brange is expected back in LA because By The Sea opens AFI Fest so we should be hearing soon how it is, what kind of film we’re dealing with here. Full Story

The likeable Bryan Cranston

Bryan Cranston is so charming. It’s his Tim Whatley smile. It’s his slick delivery. Bryan was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night to promote Trumbo, which comes out this week. I reviewed Trumbo at TIFF and wrote that while Bryan played a sly smooth-talking screenwriter as well as he could have, the film was too superficial to be the communist/Cold War caper it was meant to be. Full Story

Take a look at Amy Schumer's crew. From left to right, it’s her stylist Leesa Evans, Rose Byrne (who hasn’t yet confirmed that she’s pregnant but let's be real), Lena Dunham and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. This same photo was posted on Instagram three times in succession early this morning, starting with Amy, then the JLD, and Lena. Full Story

Chris Evans has been in Georgia filming Gifted, a movie about a guy fighting for custody of his genius niece, so it’s like a cross between Little Man Tate and a Lifetime movie of the week. The script was on the Black List, but then, so was Pan, and it’s directed by Marc Webb, who crashed and burned with the rebooted Spider-Man franchise. Full Story

Brange gave an exclusive interview to Tom Brokaw for The Today Show to promote By The Sea. I’ve attached the video below. It’s just under 8 minutes and he speaks to both of them individually and also together. There’s a cute moment when Brad’s basically like, yeah, my wife can’t cook, but mostly we’re pretty serious here, discussing Angelina’s double mastectomy and her decision to have her ovaries removed this year. Full Story

Carey Mulligan was given the Hollywood Actress Award last night at the Hollywood Film Awards for her work in Suffragette which, frankly, hasn’t been buzzing the way people expected it would in terms of its awards potential. Carey, however, does have a legitimate chance at a nomination for Best Actress although she trails Brie Larson and Saoirse Ronan on momentum. Full Story

Ryan Gosling was at the Hollywood Film Awards last night to present to Saoirse Ronan. He directed her in Lost River. She was given the New Hollywood Award. And that’s basically why the Hollywood Film Awards are totally ridiculous. Since when is Saoirse Ronan “new”? She was nominated for an Oscar (for Atonement) SEVEN YEARS AGO. Full Story

Sandra Bullock leads the new Oceans Eleven

It was reported on Friday that they’re remaking Oceans Eleven and it’s all-female, just like they’ve done with Ghostbusters, with Sandra Bullock taking over George Clooney’s role as Danny Ocean. George will also produce. Yes, I love this idea. Yes, some assholes will complain about it, just like they complained about Ghostbusters. Full Story

There have been several prestige films that were supposed to take off this award season and become contenders for Oscar and they haven’t delivered. Our Brand Is Crisis kinda bombed this weekend. Nobody cared about the Steve Jobs movie even though the critics (mostly) loved it. Nobody noticed Joseph Gordon-Levitt in The Walk. Full Story

Johnny Depp at the Hollywood Film Awards – one year later

The Hollywood Film Awards happened last night. Remember when they were televised last year? And, still, no one knows what the f-ck the Hollywood Film Awards actually mean except that somehow they get a lot of super famous people to show up? Last year at the Hollywood Film Awards, Johnny Depp showed up and this went down: This year Johnny showed up, with Amber Heard, and presented an award to Joel Edgerton with Dakota Johnson. Full Story

My Obsession: Best Costume

Lainey Posted by Lainey at November 2, 2015 14:07:11 November 2, 2015 14:07:11

So many celebrities were out in costume this weekend for Halloween. This is my vote for Best Celebrity Costume… Sam and Aaron Taylor Johnson, as Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega from Pulp Fiction. Is it just because I’m biased? Is it just because they’re My Obsession? But look at the attention to detail! When he’s scrunching up his face here? It’s totally JT!   💉 Full Story
