Set during the Golden Age of Hollywood about the hapless movie star, the biggest movie star in the world, played by George Clooney, of course, who gets kidnapped and Ray Donovan of the 1950s has to get him back by enlisting the help of everyone else in the business…before the gossip columnist gets hold of the story. Full Story

About a year ago right now, Jennifer Aniston had just come off screening Cake at TIFF. No one bought the film at the festival but she figured out a way to get it distributed and then hired an Oscar strategist to help secure a nomination. She ended up at the Golden Globes and even the SAG Awards but the Academy still wasn’t interested. Full Story

Will Butler just released a new video for his song Anna. And it’s basically Emma Stone dancing her way around a cruise ship. As you can/will see, she’s delightful. And expressive, expressive in a way we haven’t seen much from her, which is saying something because Emma Stone is already pretty expressive. Full Story

Disney just announced a slew of new release dates, and on the slate for 2018 is a sequel to Ant-Man titled Ant-Man and the Wasp. Evangeline Lilly plays Hope Van Dyne, who, at the end of Ant-Man, we saw get her own super-suit, setting her up to become the Wasp. Full Story

It’s called Bridget Jones’s Baby. And we know Bridget is pregnant. But who’s the father? The whole point is that they want us to think it might not be Mark Darcy’s. And since Patrick Dempsey has joined the cast, he could be possible baby father. So here’s Colin Firth on set in London today hugging a woman who may or may not be part of the scene, in his trademark Mark Darcy overcoat. Full Story

Daniel Craig isn’t that grumpy

Daniel Craig’s new interview with Time Out London is being excerpted all over the place. He says he’d rather “slash my wrists” than do another Bond movie. And that he doesn’t “give a f-ck” who gets cast to play Bond next. When I first read these quotes, I was like, Jesus Christ, what happened to his happiness? He’s actually not that crusty though. Full Story

(Lainey: a new trailer for Trumbo was released yesterday. Some people think Bryan Cranston could be a contender. He’s so well liked in Hollywood. And he would be the answer if voters don’t want to reward Eddie Redmayne two years in a row, can’t stand Johnny Depp, continue to deny Leo, and if Fassbender won’t play. Full Story

So happy to start the day with two of my favourites. First Carey Mulligan, now one of my all-timers, Winona Ryder who was at the premiere of Experimenter in New York last night. It was hard to find shots of her without those shock eyes. She seems to be opening them up extra wide in most of these pictures, and they’re already large and arresting to begin with. Full Story

Casting Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily in Pan is not a move that went over well anywhere, and since she’s doing press to promote the movie, which comes out this weekend, Mara is now answering questions about the casting and whitewashing of what should have been a high-profile role for a Native actress. Full Story
