Paper Towns is so cheesy and over-the-top, you would think it was a 17-year-old or 18-year-old’s opus. That relatability is what teens love about John Green’s writing…. he’s become their John Hughes. Watching the movie, you can immediately suss out moments that will become Tumblr memes, yearbook quotes and Instagram captions for this generation. Full Story

I started yesterday’s blog with Charlie Hunnam on the cover of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly. Um. Now there’s a video. And the sounds coming out of my office just now were obscene. I watched it with Jordy, Key Hair on The Social Full Story

Mockingjay Part 2 Trailer

Duana Posted by Duana at July 23, 2015 20:31:32 July 23, 2015 20:31:32

It’s here.  The final chapter. I have to give this trailer credit – I feel more excited about the end of Mockingjay than I thought I would, given how empty and flat the story left me feeling years ago. The fights were too endless, the blasts too uniform, and I stopped feeling anything. Full Story

The Revenant is basically Tropic Thunder

Sarah Posted by Sarah at July 23, 2015 18:28:19 July 23, 2015 18:28:19

The Hollywood Reporter has a feature with director Alejandro Inarritu, still working on The Revenant, which is basically just giving the guy a microphone to clear up those pesky rumors that his production is “troubled”, plagued by a hellish location shoot, budget overages, and scheduling woes. Full Story

He’s a hustler, baby

Lainey Posted by Lainey at July 23, 2015 13:45:14 July 23, 2015 13:45:14

How’s this for a good morning? Charlie Hunnam covers the new issue of Entertainment Weekly as King Arthur for Guy Ritchie's upcoming Knights Of The Round Table. I'm short of breath, are you? F-ck. F-ck I almost don't want him to be this hot. Because it's not right to want someone so impossible so badly. Full Story

Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer are currently promoting The Man From UNCLE. He’s also been rumoured for a part in the Fifty Shades sequel. So E! asked him if it was true – and this is how he reacted: OK, so basically they’re trying to do the deal now? Because otherwise it’s a straight up “no”, right? Cavill is not going to be replacing Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey. Full Story

Katie Holmes was on Good Morning America today promoting Ray Donovan. Have you seen Ray Donovan? I’ve just gone through the first season – which I really enjoyed – but the second season has been queued for a while because, how do people get through all this great television? It’s a first world problem. Full Story

Gorgeous, Grim Bond

Sarah Posted by Sarah at July 22, 2015 16:39:50 July 22, 2015 16:39:50

There’s a new trailer for the latest Bond movie, Spectre, and we finally get a clear look at some of the new characters in play, including Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx, Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux as the femme fatales, and Christoph Waltz as Totally Not Blofeld. Officially Waltz’s character is listed as “Franz Oberhauser”, but after the John Harrison/Khan bullsh*t Star Trek Into Darkness pulled and the ongoing March Of Lies surrounding Game of Thrones/Jon Snow, who the f*ck even believes filmmakers anymore? At this point, if Waltz really is playing legendary Bond villain Blofeld, no one will be surprised. Full Story

One of the best laughs in Trainwreck comes at Anne Hathaway’s expense. No spoilers here, but after Bill Hader’s Dr. Aaron Connors wins a prize for his work with Doctors Without Borders, Amy tells him to stop walking around with his trophy because he looks like “Anne Hathaway walking around at an Oscars after-party. Full Story
