Tomorrowland is Home Alone with robots?

Sarah Posted by Sarah at April 21, 2015 16:20:27 April 21, 2015 16:20:27

I’d be totally okay with that. The onslaught of “please put this in front of the Avengers” trailers continues today with a new trailer from Tomorrowland, George Clooney’s sci-fi adventure that is (disappointingly) also not a biopic of Walt Disney. This project, written and directed by Brad Bird, has been mystery-boxed, but this trailer gives us a fair look at the action and tone of the movie, even though I’m still a little dim on the plot. Full Story

Both Tom Hardy and Nicholas Hoult were photographed arriving in Vegas yesterday ahead of CinemaCon. So they're presumably there for Mad Max: Fury Road, opening in less than a month. CinemaCon is where they give out random awards. Like the Star Of Tomorrow award. Previous winners include Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer. Full Story

John Travolta is currently promoting a movie called The Forger. He was in New York yesterday promoting the film on Good Morning America and Letterman. During the interview with GMA, he was asked about HBO’s Going Clear. I’ve embedded the video below. John is asked to explain why his Church is such a target, why people are so critical of it. Full Story

After all kinds of speculation about where he’s been the last month (click here for my post from yesterday), Johnny Depp returned to Australia today on a private jet with Amber Heard. Photographers were there to document the arrival, which was more like a show. Full Story

Armie Hammer and his wife Elizabeth Chambers stepped out this weekend for the LACMA 50th anniversary gala. My first thought when I saw these pictures: “Oh yeah, Armie Hammer.” He was supposed to be a thing, wasn’t he? He was supposed to be on the verge of a big career. Full Story

Jared Leto and the cast of the Suicide Squad have been in Toronto a few weeks now. It’s finally warmer in Toronto. The day I left it was gorgeous. And I heard it was a great weekend. Which is when these shots were taken of Jared and his friends hanging out Saturday afternoon. It’s bright. Full Story

Tom Hardy in Child 44

Child 44, the so-called thriller starring Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, and Gary Oldman, is a spectacular mess (and it’s tanking). Like Serena earlier this year, it features a lot of talent and yet the result is completely lacking. Full Story

George Clooney was at work again this past weekend on Money Monster in New York. And Amal came to visit again. And something must have been really funny because there were big laughs and, as you can see from George’s various facial expressions, they’re still honeymooning because I don’t think he’s ever found a woman so interesting. Full Story

We’re getting a slew of new trailers lately because everyone is debuting the stuff that will be attached to Avengers: Age of Ultron. That movie is tracking like a monster (I had a hilarious conversation last week with a box office money guy about the potential ceiling for Marvel and whether or not Monopoly money will become legal tender when Disney has the rest of the world’s currency in their Scrooge McDuck vault), so everyone wants to get their trailers attached, putting their projects in front of what will probably be the biggest cinema audience in history—at least until New New Star Wars opens in December. Full Story
