Sarah Posted by Sarah at June 15, 2015 14:02:29 June 15, 2015 14:02:29

Literally, it banked the second-biggest opening weekend of all time with an estimated $204 million debut, knocking Avengers: Age of Ultron down to number three. By the time the actuals come in, Jurassic World could actually take down The Avengers’ 2012 record of $207.4 million for the biggest opening weekend of all time. Full Story

(Lainey: given the way it’s performing and that dinosaurs are taking over, this might be your last chance to see Aloha... if you want to.) One of the threads that emerged last year during the Sony Hack was that the Hawaiian-set “Untitled Cameron Crowe” project was a disaster Full Story

They need this

Lainey Posted by Lainey at June 12, 2015 15:34:54 June 12, 2015 15:34:54

A new trailer for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (all the periods in this title are annoying, can I please skip them next time?) was released last night. The movie comes out on August 14. Lainey Posted by Lainey at June 12, 2015 13:55:06 June 12, 2015 13:55:06

I was one of those dumb f-cking c-nts. I was a believer. I kept believing, right up to the very, very end. Right up until USADA charged him in October 2012. I’ve written about it before. San Andreas is exactly as advertised on the tin—The Rock fights an earthquake, and The Rock wins. Hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions, of people die in the process, but the important thing is that if you go see San Andreas, that movie will hold up its end of the deal and show you The Rock fighting an earthquake, and winning. Full Story

James Bond in a tactleneck

Sarah Posted by Sarah at June 10, 2015 15:48:13 June 10, 2015 15:48:13

There’s a new TV spot for Spectre, the next installment in the Bond franchise. (Every time someone asks me when superhero movies will be over, I remind them that Bond has been going strong for fifty-three years and watch the light die in their eyes.) It’s mostly recycled from the teaser trailer Full Story
