The New York Times released a series of videos yesterday all themed around kissing starring actors who delivered some of the finest performances of the year. There are 9 of them. And my favourite… Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Miles Teller. Because I love her. Because look at her face, don’t you want to kiss her? It’s because of Belle. Full Story

This weekend there are two new major releases in theaters: Exodus: Gods & Guyliner and Chris Rock’s Top Five. If you’re going to the movies, go see Top Five. Ridley Scott thinks he couldn’t make Exodus without white leads, but we have a chance to empirically prove he’s wrong. Full Story

Kate Winslet and Liam Hemsworth look like they're really bonding on the set of The Dressmaker in Australia. Big sister, little brother. She's always been known to be a lot of fun to hang out with. In another time though... In different circumstances... I'm around Kate's age-ish. Full Story

Reese Witherspoon was nominated for a SAG award yesterday. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award today. There was never any doubt, was there? She’s good in Wild. And she’s connected in Hollywood. Jim Toth, her husband, is a major player at CAA. In that Jennifer Aniston article I posted earlier about her big victory over Brange the last two days, I wondered about a conspiracy theory. Full Story

Fallout from the Sony Hack continues, and this time it’s the new Bond movie, Spectre, caught in the crosshairs. Emails between the president of MGM, Jonathan Glickman, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, and Sony executives, including co-chief Amy Pascal—is anyone having a worse week than Amy Pascal?—reveal that the new Bond movie is already way over budget, even though it just started filming on Monday. Full Story

Check out Mark Wahlberg and his congenial wife, Rhea Durham, at the premiere of The Gambler last night. As you know, Mark’s been in the news lately because he’s requested a pardon for beating people up when he was 16. At the time he spat out some racial slurs to go along with his punches. Full Story

Tonight is the premiere of Seth Rogen’s and James Franco’s new movie, The Interview, in which they play entertainment reporters attempting to assassinate Kim Jong-un. North Korea is unhappy about the existence of this movie, and many people assume it’s the impetus behind the Sony Hack, but so far, no conclusive evidence Full Story

This was not the way the week was expected to go for Angelina Jolie. No Golden Globes. And she gets implicated in the Sony email leak. AND Jennifer Aniston gets a SAG nomination and an invitation to the Beverly Hilton by the HFPA. It’s rare. Because the way the Jolie plays it, things usually go her way. Full Story

SAG nomination yesterday, Golden Globe nomination today – Jake Gyllenhaal’s chances at an Oscar nomination are looking better and better. Bradley Cooper’s are not. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has given us a lot of WTF moments over the years. I’m not sure if the Brange and Unbroken shutout qualifies as a standard HFPA WTF the way The Tourist did, or, you know, Pia Zadora. Full Story

Sarah messaged me right when I was coming off The Social this afternoon OMGing about the new Mad Max trailer. I pressed play as soon as I got back to my desk and wrote her back: Holy sh-t. HOLY SH-T. This is the best looking and best sounding trailer I’ve seen in…years. Now just to go back for a minute to the Sony email leaks – it was widely reported that production on Mad Max was troubled. Full Story
