As you may have read leading up to TIFF, Cara Delevingne was on my TIFF 2014 Watch List. I thought she’d be drama. I thought she’d light up the party scene. I thought maybe she’d tear up a few parties. I was right. And I was wrong. She deserved to be on the Watch List. She totally delivered. Full Story

Troy Dyer was mentioned during one of our segments on The Social. And some people were like …who? Christ Jesus. Was Reality Bites not a seminal movie for everyone????? Clearly not. But Troy Dyer is having an excellent year. Full Story

The highlight of TIFF tonight is probably the premiere for St Vincent at 9pm at the Princess Of Wales theatre. The festival is honouring Bill Murray. They’re telling fans to dress up as him. And of course, he’ll put on a show, like he always does. All that on top of his performance in the film, said to be one of the best, if not perhaps the best, of his career. Full Story

Not my words. That’s from The Telegraph’s review of Before I Go To Sleep, the new film starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth. They walked the carpet together last night to promote it in London. The Telegraph’s film critic gave the movie only 2 stars and, at the end, made the following comment: “Blunt-force trauma, memory loss, and those Grace of Monaco reviews? Talk about an annus horribilis for Nicole. Full Story

Lizzy Caplan and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are shooting a movie together in New York about Christmas Eve and old friends getting together. (She’s not with Matthew Perry anymore. Remember that???) Great casting, non? In real life, I could totally see these two hooking up. I mean, I know it’s just acting but seeing her kissing him is the most attracted I’ve been to him ever. Full Story

That expression is kinda vommy, non? I don’t love it. But I also don’t deny that people do, um, glow from within when they’re happy. We project that onto people too. Like, you’ve heard again and again recently about how happy she is…so is that influencing how you’re seeing her face? She looks radiant here in London today to promote Sex Tape. Full Story

Check out Hugh Jackman in New York yesterday taking his son Oscar to school. Oscar got real tall, real fast. Not sure when he celebrates his birthday but he was 13 years old in February. God. That's so fast. I feel like last year he was riding around on his father's shoulders. Hugh recently wrapped on Pan. Full Story

It’s September and summer is officially over, which means it’s time for festival season. Telluride has come and gone and Venice is underway, and now TIFF kicks off on the fourth, heralding the unofficial start of Oscar season (it’s pretty much year-round at this point, but TIFF is still when sh*t starts getting real Full Story

TIFF 2014 opens tomorrow. Sarah’s preview for the festival will be posted shortly as an advance overview of the entire event. But the gala on Thursday night belongs to The Judge. Robert Downey Jr, the biggest movie star in the world, is opening TIFF. Shinan Govani wrote a piece for The Globe & Mail yesterday featuring RDJ and how, ten years ago, it would have been unlikely that he would be the guy, the guy coming to Toronto, as the prime time steak. Full Story
