Do you miss Victoria Beckham? Posh hasn’t been papped in a long time. See? They can go deep underground when they want to. Even Victoria Beckham can go deep underground when she wants to. She wants to because she understands that her absence increases the value when she actually does show up. Full Story

A new trailer for Maleficent aired last night during the Grammys. MUUUUUUUCH better than the sh-tty CGI previews we’ve seen so far. The effects still look Spice Girls Viva Forever and it is Disney, after all, so we’ll be holding hands by the end of it, no doubt, but the focus this time is on Angelina Jolie’s personality. Full Story

I have forgotten what warm is. Warm is a distant memory of another time, when the sky wasn’t grey and ice didn’t cover everything and I could feel all of my fingers and toes. But warm is gone and it is the cold time now. It will just get colder and colder until society breaks down and we’re forced to live in a frozen nightmare hellscape. Full Story

I have dragons. I’m happy with the dragons. Dragons are coming out the pop culture wazoo right now, and I love it. But I don’t have any pirates. Rather, the pirates I do have are stupid, and I want better ones. (Exception: Gideon Defoe’s The Pirates! series, and adaptations thereof. Full Story

Maybe It’s Good That Quentin Tarantino Movie is Ruined?

Dean Posted by Dean

Who ruined Quentin Tarantino’s next big movie? That’s the question everyone’s asking today in Hollywood after the script for his upcoming Western, The Hateful Eight, leaked. And what’s really interesting is that the list of potentially guilty parties is REALLY short. According to his new interview with Deadline, Quentin had only shown the script to six people, including Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, and their agents. Full Story

They’re shooting a movie together… Don’t look at me. You think I understand? It’s called Lila & Eve. They’re mothers. Their kids are killed in a driveby. The authorities are impotent, unwilling, not helpful. So it’s Mom Vigilantes. You know, I think maybe I changed my mind. Full Story

From gawky schoolboy to A-lister's love - but how long can About A Boy star Nicholas Hoult hold on to Hollywood's hottest property, Jennifer Lawrence? The f-cking Daily Mail, of course. Nicholas Hoult was at Sundance for Young Ones, directed by Jake Paltrow. Full Story

George Clooney is in Valencia, Spain shooting Tomorrowland. It seems like he’s been working on this film forever. I think they started in Vancouver in September, maybe even August, and during that time he was cutting The Monuments Men which is probably why Matt Damon called Gravity the Sandra Bullock movie the other day during promotion for The Monuments Men. Full Story

Celebrities aren’t the only ones who bury news stories late on holiday weekends. Warner Brothers did it late Friday with a piece of the news that, at any other point in the news cycle, would have dominated everything. As it is, tucking away their announcement after business on the Friday before the long MLK holiday weekend (in the US, anyway) spared WB some nerd angst over the weekend. Full Story

Benedict Cumberbatch was enjoying himself at the SAG Awards. I mean that sincerely, no side-eye. Every time I caught a glimpse of him in the audience, he was smiling and laughing, sitting at the 12 Years a Slave table but making time for his August: Osage County co-stars, too. It had to feel nice, being a double nominee as part of the 12 Years and Osage County ensembles—it’s a positive footnote to the year that didn’t go quite as originally planned Full Story
