Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield were out together in New York yesterday and they were out the other day too but I didn’t post those photos because there was no kissing and also a green hat. I need her to stop wearing that green hat. I’m going to pretend she never wore it. I’m going to pretend she doesn’t own it. Full Story

Marion Cotillard has been in Cannes for a few days now. She’s in the Dardennes film Two Days, One Night that is said to be one of the contenders for the Palme d’Or. She’s also a contender for Best Actress but now it’s looking like a two horse race between Marion and Anne Dorval in Xavier Dolan’s Mommy which screened after Two Days, One Night and might have the momentum. Full Story

Reese Witherspoon is currently shooting a movie with Sofia Vergara called Don’t Mess With Texas in Louisiana. She plays a cop, obviously, and Sofia is a felon, and they’re runnin’ from the law, from the law, I say, from the law! This won’t be the movie that takes Reese back to the Oscars. Full Story

Jennifer Aniston’s Life Of Crime

Lainey Posted by Lainey at May 21, 2014 15:55:32 May 21, 2014 15:55:32

A new trailer for Life Of Crime has been released, adapted from Elmore Leonard’s The Switch. Tim Robbins has a mistress, Isla Fisher, and he doesn’t seem to be into his wife, Jennifer Aniston. So what happens when some gangsters kidnap her for ransom? I love how Aniston’s been styled in this film. Full Story

Tom Cruise was out last night in London having dinner with director Paul Greengrass. Perhaps a future project? Let’s focus on the present project first. Edge Of Tomorrow opens next week in the UK and the following week in North America. It’s a crowded summer, as always, and, well, the question for Tom is whether or not he still belongs there. Full Story

Dylan’s over in Cannes shooting footage for etalk with our host Tanya Kim. They’ve been sending back some great shots and interviews that will air on the show all week, including some inadvertent (?) gossip I thought you might enjoy. I suppose it’s all in the interpretation. So last night we aired our interview with Atom Egoyan who directed Ryan Reynolds in The Captive. Full Story

Lost River was booed yesterday in Cannes. I mean there was some applause. But the jeering was much louder. And most of the high profile critics seem to agree that, well, Lost River just isn’t a very good movie. With the exception of Anne Thompson at IndieWire, Ryan Gosling’s debut effort as a director did not impress. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

I interviewed Angelina Jolie yesterday. I’ve interviewed her before (Kung Fu Panda 2), but never for that long and also never alone. Makes a big difference. Like, I still feel her in my blood. And I think, I think I made her laugh.  Read Full Intro

A selection of shots of Robert Pattinson in Cannes is attached. Pattinson was at the festival representing two films – first The Rover and then David Cronenberg’s Maps To The Stars. Pattinson’s performance in The Rover was called by many to be the best of his career. And he apparently delivers in Maps To The Stars too. Full Story

Super serious space movie

Sarah Posted by Sarah at May 20, 2014 15:24:17 May 20, 2014 15:24:17

Do you remember the fake Anna Scott movie in Notting Hill? It was like a super serious space movie, and the little in-movie clip was of Anna Scott looking super serious, in space. That’s what I thought of as I watched the first trailer fir Christopher Nolan’s latest, Interstellar. It looks like a super serious space movie—it looks like Notting Hill. Full Story

Hooked on a feeling

Sarah Posted by Sarah at May 20, 2014 14:33:29 May 20, 2014 14:33:29

Guardians of the Galaxy has always been described as Marvel’s biggest risk to date, which is really saying something when you consider they bet their studio’s future against Iron Man’s success back when RDJ was still uninsurable. But making what amounts to the Marvel version of Spaceballs trumps even that risk, which means there are a lot of nerves from a lot of different directions surrounding Guardians. Full Story
