I love this story. US Weekly reports in its new issue that Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf, who are shooting a movie together called The Fury, had to go camping together with 3 other cast members as a bonding exercise. No cell phones. They had to gather food and sleep in tents. Full Story

And now, a diversion into a particular pocket of nerd… “Into The Woods It’s Time To Go I Hate To Leave I Have To Though…” If you know – if you have that particular brand of musical nerd in you – you got a bit hyper and out of breath as you mouthed those words super-rapidly. Full Story

Love this. Quvenzhane Wallis and Jamie Foxx are in New York shooting the Annie movie. This is your first look at the orphan and her Daddy…not Warbucks but Stacks. Benjamin Stacks. Amazing, right? Stop. Annie does not HAVE to have red hair and freckles to sing Tomorrow. All Annie needs to be is alone. Full Story

Aaron Paul’s new movie looks badass

Whatever fate ends up befalling Jesse Pinkman, Aaron Paul is already moving on with new movie projects, the first of which is video game adaptation Need for Speed. When you hear those six words—“video game adaptation: Need for Speed”—what do you think? It had me thinking of a Fast & Furious knock-off, something improbably dumb and loud and explosiony. Full Story

Bonnie & Emile Hirsch

Emile Hirsch is not my favourite. I had to listen to him one night enjoying the sound of his own voice while lecturing at Robert Pattinson about film and it was enough. So what I’m saying is maybe I’m biased. Maybe I’m incapable of watching a trailer for Bonnie & Clyde, with Hirsch playing Hyde, and seeing the art. Full Story

Today in Yeah, That’s Actually Not Surprising news, Nicole Kidman’s Grace of Monaco has been pushed back to spring 2014, taking her out of (potential) Best Actress contention. After getting a look at that chintzy teaser last week, this makes sense. Full Story

There are so many things I love about this photo set. It’s Paul Bettany directing a film called Shelter from a screenplay that he wrote, starring his wife Jennifer Connelly. We don’t see enough of Connelly. She’s lovely. Bettany was supposed to star in Masters Of Sex, which is premiering this coming weekend and Duana and I can’t wait. Full Story

I like how he’s standing right beside that review. Check out James McAvoy in Edinburgh yesterday at the premiere of his new movie Filth, opening in Scotland this weekend and all over the UK on October 4. Still no confirmation on North American release date. They don’t think there’ll be a market for it. Full Story

Cinderella’s heaving bosom

Last year I undertook a fairytale reading project and read all of the Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen fairytales. I learned two interesting things as a result: 1) you can learn a lot about a culture’s morals by reading their folklore, and 2) fairytales are extremely f*cked up. I totally get the fractured fairytale trend in Hollywood right now because there are some fantastic stories with interesting creatures that are inherently cinematic, but with the exception of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, no one has approached the material from the “these stories are dark and f*cked up and not for children” angle (Red Riding Hood Full Story

Henry Cavill shoots in a suit

Not that suit. But a wool suit. In London on the set of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and not the Man Of Steel. Ha! (Sorry) Guy Ritchie is directing the movie based on the old TV show. Tom Cruise was originally cast in the film and Cavill stepped in when he dropped out. Most random replacement ever. Full Story

Jeremy Renner’s family day

Jeremy Renner was out yesterday in LA with Sonni Pacheco and their daughter Ava Berlin, 5 months. Ava is chunky and cute. I can’t see either one of her parents in her face yet. OK maybe there’s a little of her dad in her eyes? Jeremy and Sonni are supposedly not together, even though she lives on his property. Full Story
