As mentioned last week, The Notebook celebrated its 10th anniversary last week and Nick Cassavetes, the director, talked to VH1 about some of his memories from the film, providing great insight on the actors, particularly Ryan Gosling. What’s getting the most attention is Cassavetes’ anecdote about the chemistry between Gosling and Rachel McAdams. Full Story

Who’s the horrible boss?

Sarah Posted by Sarah at July 2, 2014 15:04:45 July 2, 2014 15:04:45

Horrible Bosses was a perfectly serviceable comedy that is most notable for featuring Charlie Day, because Charlie Day is a national treasure and any time he’s on screen it’s worth watching. And since it made $209 million at the box office, it got a sequel, which is due in November. Horrible Bosses 2 reunites Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Day, as well as brings back two of the three bosses from the first movie, Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Aniston. Full Story

Sarah Posted by Sarah at June 27, 2014 16:59:02 June 27, 2014 16:59:02

In the wake of the Kristen Stewart/Rupert Sanders scandal of 2012, a lot of people wondered what would happen to the Snow White and the Huntsman sequel. Would Sanders be back, would Stewart be back, would neither return? Would Universal decide to skip a proper sequel entirely and just do a spin-off focusing on Chris Hemsworth’s huntsman character? There were questions, but few answers. Full Story

Franco & Rogen’s act of war

Sarah Posted by Sarah at June 26, 2014 17:14:03 June 26, 2014 17:14:03

It’s amazing how tolerable James Franco becomes when he’s working with Seth Rogen. It might be Rogen’s ability to bring out the best in anyone, or maybe it’s seeing their real friendship bleed into their performances together, but when Franco is working opposite Rogen, I almost forget about his Instagram Full Story

Lainey Posted by Lainey at June 25, 2014 17:03:47 June 25, 2014 17:03:47

The first full trailer for Fury, starring Brad Pitt, Michael Pena, Logan Lerman, and Shia LaBeouf was released today. I can rarely sit through a war movie – and I suppose that’s how you’re supposed to feel. But…not to sound like an insensitive c-nt… Brad Pitt’s character’s name is Wardaddy. Full Story

A couple weeks ago, Harrison Ford, who is seventy-one, broke his ankle when a door on the Millennium Falcon set fell on him. At first it was made to sound like no big deal, but over the last couple weeks, rumors have swirled as to the true extent of his injury—maybe he hurt his hip as well, or broke some ribs, or shattered into hundred thousand pieces like glass. Full Story

As mentioned yesterday, Maleficent is now Angelina Jolie’s highest grossing film…and there are still territories yet to open. Like Japan. Where she’s been with Elle Fanning for a few days – yesterday at the premiere and today for a press conference. As usual, Elle’s doing the princess thing in pink and the Jolie’s in black. Full Story

On Friday news broke that writer/director Rian Johnson, who previously made the most excellent Looper and Brick, would be writing and directing Star Wars Episode VIII and writing the treatment for Episode IX. He won’t actually direct IX — he probably won’t even write the final script—but he’ll set it up and, presumably, be the driving creative force of the Star Wars franchise, sort of like how Joss Whedon is steering the Avengers (and a dead cat is steering the Justice League). Full Story
