I don’t know if this is so much blonde as it is…orange? It’s sun-in. Do you know sun-in? Sun-in was a product we used back in the day to lighten our hair. I’ve got a friend who is a brilliant mathematician, who has dual PhDs and if you met him, you would think he worked for NASA. But no, he works for a firm that specializes in risk assessment for movie studios, and his job is to analyze market data and predict opening weekend box office for movies. Full Story

That’s a question on a gossip quiz: Who said the following: “Breakfast, lunch, and f-cking dinner right here!” If you don’t know, you haven’t been doing your gossip homework. Colin Farrell, of course. He’s promoting Saving Mr Banks and discussed it during an Irish television interview the other day. Full Story

If you haven’t grasped it by now, Harvey Weinstein is a very difficult figure in film. There is no denying his impact on the US movie industry, especially as a promoter of specialty and indie films, and his role as one of the central figures in the politicization of the Academy Awards. But he’s also got a reputation among filmmakers—has had for years—as a cut-happy editor who will gleefully slice your movie to ribbons in order to make it more marketable. Full Story

When it was announced back in March that they were remaking Endless Love, I wrote about how movie sex isn’t the same anymore. Click here for a refresher. When I was growing up in the 80s and 90s, movie sex used to make me really horny. Now I go for soft core high quality porn (it’s really well shot and the people are always really attractive and there’s no fisting) if I need a little variety because they don’t give it to me the same way anymore in Hollywood. Full Story

Those who don’t enjoy Wes Anderson’s films knock it for their preciousness and pretention. Sometimes, yes. But I will defend The Royal Tenenbaums every day. And how can you hate Bottle Rocket? Also, Moonrise Kingdom was one of my favourite movies of 2012. Maybe my favourite movie of 2012. Full Story
