Katie Holmes stepped out yesterday in New York in leather pants and trainers. Click here to see a better shot of her kicks. These actually look pretty comfortable. The pants, I mean. It’s a cute look on her. It’s way cuter than when she wears sh-t she designs herself. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

Gravity broke the October box office record for a non-sequel this weekend. It’s great news for movie stars. And it’s great news for Sandra Bullock, who is a real movie star. Sandy’s 2013/2014 is looking a lot like her 2009/2010 – hit comedy in the summer (The Proposal/The Heat) followed by a commercially successful drama in the fall (The Blind Side/Gravity) and then…on to Oscar? If Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep have locked down the first two nomination spots (and, right now, it seems inconceivable that they won’t be there in March), Gravity’s success means Sandy’s running a very close third in the race.  Read Full Intro

When The Social Network was released a few years ago, out of nowhere people were talking about a possible Best Supporting Actor nomination for Justin Timberlake – you remember that? I felt like it was a practical joke. Did we all see the same movie? Every JT scene was cut like a Britney Spears video, quick edits to camouflage his limited range. Full Story

In the wake of Tom Clancy’s death earlier this week at 66, it could seem mercenary that Paramount is releasing the first poster and trailer for the latest cinematic iteration of Clancy’s popular character Jack Ryan, which is creatively titled Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (sounds like a video game). Full Story

Looking ahead from 6 months, there were high expectations for both Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer. Man Of Steel and The Lone Ranger were supposed to make them big movie stars? What’s on the report card? Well, Cavill pissed his momentum away with a Kaley Cuoco situation. And Hammer’s Lone Ranger took a dump at the box office and then he tried to blame the critics for its failure. Full Story

It's been so long since we've seen her on a carpet and seeing her here now... Look at her. I have missed her. She is glorious. A vision! Here's Penelope Cruz at a London screening of The Counselor with Javier Bardem and Michael Fassbender. Ordinarily, I'd maaayyyybe wonder if the floor length gown is kinda over the top buuuuuut. Full Story

It was supposed to be Saoirse Ronan. Marvel wanted it to be Saoirse Ronan. But she passed and Marvel moved on. (The unofficial story is that her people tried to game Marvel for money and unless your initials are R, D and J, that sh*t don’t fly. Full Story

And not William and Harry. This is the set of Into The Woods in England. And that’s Billy Magnussen who plays Rapunzel’s prince with Chris Pine who plays Cinderella’s prince. These princes costumes are kinda rock’n’roll, non? And these two actors are certainly very…princely. Full Story

Game on f-ckers: Brad Pitt kicks off his campaign

12 Years A Slave opens (limited) in a couple of weeks. It’s coming off big, BIG buzz in Telluride and then at TIFF where it was almost unanimously declared the frontrunner for Oscar, already. And already a few films are getting the f-ck out of its way. Still, there are several contenders that have time to build momentum, including David O Russell’s American Hustle and George Clooney’s Monuments Men so Brad Pitt’s starting early. Full Story

A few months ago, after the release of the first trailer for The Hobbit: Journey to Nowhere, I said that trailer #2 should just be the dragon, as voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch. Because that’s all we really care about, right? The dragon, The Batch’s voice, and bonus Lee Pace. Full Story

Maybe it’s because we have our own house now, but I’ve never been as into House Porn as I am now. Also, I have no eye for interiors. It’s weird because when it comes to clothing, I know exactly what I want. When it comes to where I live and what that could look like…no idea. Full Story
