A trailer for The Internship came on tv the other day. Jacek almost never, ever volunteers to go out and see a movie. He’d rather stay in and see a movie after enjoying a nice blend. Jacek’s reaction to The Internship preview? Oh, we have to go see that. It’s a Wedding Crashers thing. Full Story

Oh look. It’s Duana’s new obsession, the Smith Family. Click here to read her post yesterday on Will and Jaden Smith’s interview with Vulture. It’s all about “patterns”, see? On the red carpet, the parents wear bright colours while the children stick to black and white. Full Story

Here are some new shots of Peter Dinklage, James McAvoy, and Michael Fassbender in Montreal, in costume, on the set of the next X-Men movie. Or they could be cameos in the new Anchorman movie. Fassbender looks quite good with that scarf around his neck. X-Men: Days Of Future Past apparently takes place in 1973 Full Story

Let’s start with the work news first: HitFix is reporting that there’s an Elton John musical biopic in production and that they’ve reached out to Tom Hardy about playing the Rocketman. It’s very early. There’s not been a formal offer. Full Story

Love the white trim. Not sure about the socks, but they’re for character as Gwen Stacy as she’s here on set of the sequel. The Amazing Spider-Man was on the movie channel last night. Jacek and I watched for a while after the hockey game. He’s never seen it. You know the scene after he breaks the backboard and gets in trouble and Martin Sheen gives it to him in the school hall before embarrassing him in front of his crush? Emma and Andrew have a really cute moment afterwards when he tries to make a date with her but not really and I asked Jacek if he was into her and he was like, YES, totally. Full Story

Besides Bradley Cooper’s hair, my favourite part of The Hangover 3 comes at the end, when Todd Phillips montages together all the shots of the guys slow motion walking from the entire franchise. Can’t remember what song he cut it to but it looks good. They slow motion walk down the hotel corridor in the first movie. Full Story

With Steven Spielberg, never the most controversial or daring filmmaker in a room, as the jury president, many expected the Cannes prizes to go to Hollywood-friendly films, but Spielberg surprised many when his jury picked the French film Blue is the Warmest Colour, adapted from a French graphic novel about a girl falling in love with an older woman, for the Palme d’Or. Full Story

7 Feelings about the Don Jon trailer by Joseph Gordon-Levitt

The trailer for Don Jon, the first movie written and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is here and it’s a weird one. Don Jon is basically about The Situation if he never got famous, and co-stars Scarlett Johansson. I’m a little overwhelmed by how many feelings I have about this, so I’m going to organize them for you, just like I do for the therapist! 1. Full Story

James Gray, a Cannes favourite, screened his highly anticipated The Immigrant today at the festival. The reviews I’ve read have been medium to good. Once again, Gray is working with his muse, Joaquin Phoenix. They say however that he may have found a new one in Marion Cotillard. Her performance is generating some serious buzz. Full Story

Charlie Hunnam was photographed out in Beverly Hills yesterday. Goddamn he is hot. Especially when he’s moving around naturally and not on a red carpet with his chin up. We’ll likely be seeing more of him on red carpets as we approach the release date of Pacific Rim, in theatres July 12. Full Story

With one month to go until it opens in theaters, it’s time for World War Z to get serious about promotion. To that end, Paramount held a surprise screening in New Jersey, and Brad Pitt himself stopped by to introduce the film. And wouldn’t you know it? The audience overwhelmingly liked the movie. Full Story
