A little over a year ago I wrote about Nicole Kidman’s casting in Grace of Monaco, the Princess Grace biopic, and hoped that this would be the chance to rekindle my lady-crush on Kidman. I love Grace Kelly, I (want to) love Nicole Kidman, and I want to love this movie as a merger of two of my favorite actresses. Full Story

By today’s relationship standards, this is major. Like giving back a varsity jacket. Liam Hemsworth uses Twitter sparingly. Miley Cyrus, as you know, uses Twitter only. So she’d know that we’d know that she unfollowed Liam. She came in like a wrecking ball and all he ever did was wre-eh-eh-ck her. Full Story

Omg, where's Cher? Maybe it's better she's not there. My 80s heart would explode with love and maybe never recover. Ok but what song is playing in your head now? There can only be one! Duana Posted by Duana at September 10, 2013 17:15:54 September 10, 2013 17:15:54

So Lainey emails this morning to see if this is an article I’m interested in writing. Which is exactly the way it goes any other day, with any other article, except that the subject heading wasn’t “This?” or “Do you care?” The subject heading was “Anne Shirley”. Full Story

Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet were at Roy Thomson Hall last night for the premiere of Blood Ties. And I missed them! It’s Dylan, who shoots every live broadcast we feed into the theatre and would have been shooting Marion last night and thoroughly enjoying every moment, even though her dress is less than. Full Story

It was reported just a few weeks ago that Meryl Streep would not contend for Best Actress at the Oscars in March and that, instead, she would be submitted in the Supporting category, with Julia Roberts representing August: Osage County in the lead to take on Cate Blanchett, the current frontrunner for Blue Jasmine. Full Story

As mentioned in today’s open, Meryl Streep cancelled last minute due to illness. Which meant that Julia didn’t have to share. We lose for missing Meryl. We win when it’s All About Julia. But look at her. That’s a Movie Star. You are tired of me saying it, but she is a Movie Star. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

TIFF's artistic director, Cameron Bailey, had a great weekend. So far, almost all the "possible contenders" have delivered, the most notable being Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave, which now seems like a straight up lock for a Best Picture Oscar nomination, and could go all the way.  Read Full Intro
