The new cover of Entertainment Weekly -- Jennifer Lawrence and Sam Claflin as Katniss and Finnick in Catching Fire with a still from the movie on the inside. How you doing? You OK with that? The shot from the film is better, I guess, but whatever it is that’s happening on the front page really isn’t working for me. Full Story

Been in LA since Friday to cover 4 junkets, including Gangster Squad and the LA premiere last night. Ryan Gosling wore the sh-t out of his brown suit. And his shoes... I looked down at them when he was being interviewed by the outlet just ahead of me on the carpet and noticed they were...what do you call it when they've been hole-punched, like a strainer? Or a "colander" as I've recently learned. Full Story

At this point, who HASN’T been mentioned for Christian Grey? Wait, I know... Anthony Mackie. Anthony Mackie should be Christian Grey. Anyway, yesterday I wrote about Eddie Redmayne and how, after Les Miserables, he’s now a teen heartthrob. As the later events will probably get a lot more play, Naomi made an understated selection to ease into the season. Full Story

Joseph Gordon-Levitt wants superstardom. He’s already in the mix for the next Batman, carrying into DC/WB’s Justice League movie, and now he’s been revealed as the late entry into Marvel’s casting pool for the lead role in Guardians of the Galaxy, as space captain Peter Quill/Star-Lord. Full Story

Doug Meszler /Splash News

Many of you have emailed to fret about some of the reviews. Les Miserables is currently sitting at 72% on Rotten Tomatoes and 61% on Metacritic which doesn’t suck, no, but there have indeed been certain critics who’ve been vicious in their disdain: it’s so melodramatic, and amateurishly so; there are too many close-up shots when people are singing; there is too much singing. Full Story

I live in New York City. I waste hours a day on the internet. I have serious guilt about my Amazon usage.  I’m bloggin’. The point I’m trying to make is that I’ve pretty much embraced modern urban life. But something changes every year when the holidays arrive and I start to get intense cravings for The Quaint Life. Full Story

Leonardo DiCaprio was never so pretty as he was for Baz Luhrmann in Romeo + Juliet. As Dean wrote last week when he eulogised Leo’s sexiness -- click here for a refresher -- that’s the Leo we keep clinging to, the one we see with our memories instead of having to look at him as he is in the real, now. Full Story

But f-ck, why not? Deadline reported yesterday that Angelina Jolie will direct a movie called Unbroken. #RobstenIsUnbroken? Yes. But no. But let’s put #RobstenIsUnbroken on our Best of 2012 list anyway, shall we? The Twi-Hard meltdown exceeded all of our expectations. Full Story

I like the red field

A new trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness was released yesterday this time with more focus on Chris Pine’s Kirk who must battle a new adversary but, mostly, his own arrogance. Of course. His family is at risk. Everything is falling apart. They must run through an awesome red field/forest. And. Full Story
