12 Years A Slave is opening this weekend and in advance of the (limited) release, Fox Searchlight is screening it at a series of events, as often as possible with sponsorship, so to build momentum and word of mouth and generate support for award season. Here are director Steve McQueen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, and Lupita Nyong’o in LA last night where they also participated in a Q&A. Full Story

What Early 90s Women Knew

Duana Posted by Duana at October 16, 2013 20:38:09 October 16, 2013 20:38:09

I was surprised to find out, a few weeks ago, that for a lot of people Mystic Pizza exists only so you can spot young Matt Damon in that one dinner scene with his one line. At which I scoff. If you need early Matt Damon, watch School Ties again – that is a movie that is still satisfying (minus Amy Locane). Full Story

Carey Mulligan and Oscar Isaac were in London last night for a screening of Inside Llewyn Davis. I love her in yellow. And I love the shape of this dress. And YES, those are good shoes. No shoe hate here. No hate at all here. Not when one of my top girl crushes and the #1 on my Five List are in the same article, uncontaminated by Justin Timberlake. Full Story

Lipgloss is MAN

Lainey Posted by Lainey at October 16, 2013 15:43:46 October 16, 2013 15:43:46

You remember when I used to call Zac Efron LipGloss? He used to be so mega manicured it was like looking at an anime character. Here. Like this: Zac’s been working hard to get away from that. Full Story

Paul Rudd could be a superhero

And I would be totally fine with that. Wouldn’t you? Variety is exclusively reporting that Rudd, along with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is a finalist for Ant-Man, which will follow The Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. But this is a Marvel movie, and worse, it’s directed by fanboy favorite Edgar Wright—a filmmaker who hasn’t tapped commercial success in the US yet but who is crazy talented and a magnet for casting rumors thanks to the number and quality of actors who want to work with him—so this a superstorm of superhero bullsh*t. Full Story

Michael Fassbender’s Oscar nonchalance

Lainey Posted by Lainey at October 16, 2013 13:19:41 October 16, 2013 13:19:41

I’m not as hype on Michael Fassbender as the rest of you are. Which is why, to me, the best part of his GQ interview is that James McAvoy is in it. McAvoy is there because Fassbender is late and the two of them are supposed to, along with the journalist, speed around a track in a fast car for kicks. Full Story

It’s been a while since I pissed you off with my belly cupping hate. So, since Thanksgiving is over, let’s pick up where we left off: Me hating the belly cupping posing and you not hating it... Here we have Kate Winslet at the premiere of Labour Day in London cupping her belly all over the carpet. Full Story

Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Gosling, Garrett Hedlund, Aaron Johnson…none of them are interested. Charlie Hunnam isn’t interested. Ian Somerhalder and Joe Manganiello ARE interested but EL James, the author of Fifty Shades Of Grey, who can’t convince Robert Pattinson to give her more visuals to finger herself to, thinks she can do better. Full Story
