Paramount confirmed yesterday that Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf Of Wall Street starring Leonardo DiCaprio will be released on November 15. In other words, they’re already expecting it to be an award season contender, as most of his films usually are. Especially in a 2 movie year. In 2002 it was Gangs Of New York and Catch Me If You Can. Full Story

This time they mean business

Despite continued assurances that Iron Man 3 won’t be all that dark, every new round of promotional imagery points toward a more serious, edgier tone than we’ve seen from Tony Stark & Co. to date. Poor Lainey is going to have a heart attack, thinking something bad happens to Pepper because every new image shows her looking increasingly more sad/depressed. Full Story

Oz: The Great And Powerful covers The Hollywood Reporter this week. It’s a good “business of Hollywood” article on Disney’s $200 million big hope and, instead of kissing the studio’s ass, asks the question: will Oz be an Alice In Wonderland, or will it be more like John Carter? Some of that responsibility falls on James Franco in the title role…even though he was actually the third choice to play the part. Full Story

Variety reported yesterday that Megan Fox will star as April O’Neill in Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Bay also confirmed it on his website. It is not an animated movie. When Sarah messaged to tell me this, my first reaction was disappointment. Full Story

Oz: The Great And Powerful premiered last night in Hollywood. Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, and Michelle Williams, who play the three witches, were all making fashion statements. Least favourite: Mila Kunis. Whatever it was it looked like Marchesa. Ashton Kutcher showed up at the event too, only he tried to go undercover. Full Story

Far away from NY Fashion Week and award season, we find newlyweds Blake Lively and Reynolds in Sudbury, Ontario, a few hours’ drive north of Toronto where it’s currently -12˚C with the windchill. That’s 10˚F for you Americans. The other day it was -20˚C and -4˚F! Reynolds is there shooting Atom Egoyan’s Queen Of The Night. Full Story

Tony Leung is 50 now! That kinda just... it came up fast. There was a time I wanted to marry Tony Leung. Most girls growing up in Hong Kong homes did. He was Hong Kong’s most popular television actor. He had just starred in a very popular tv series called Police Cadet. In Canada, back then, before they figured out how to watch everything illegally, we would wait and wait and wait for the video cassettes to arrive at the Chinatown rental shoppes. Full Story

All your nightmares are coming true. In a move that surprised no one, Disney chief Bob Iger announced that not only are they continuing Star Wars with Episode VII, but they’ll also make spin-off films of popular characters. EW is reporting that two of the projects are centered on the origin story of Han Solo and a “bounty hunter adventure” starring Boba Fett (the guy who hands Han over to Jabba the Hutt at the end of Empire Strikes Back). Full Story
