Far away from NY Fashion Week and award season, we find newlyweds Blake Lively and Reynolds in Sudbury, Ontario, a few hours’ drive north of Toronto where it’s currently -12˚C with the windchill. That’s 10˚F for you Americans. The other day it was -20˚C and -4˚F! Reynolds is there shooting Atom Egoyan’s Queen Of The Night. Full Story

Tony Leung is 50 now! That kinda just... it came up fast. There was a time I wanted to marry Tony Leung. Most girls growing up in Hong Kong homes did. He was Hong Kong’s most popular television actor. He had just starred in a very popular tv series called Police Cadet. In Canada, back then, before they figured out how to watch everything illegally, we would wait and wait and wait for the video cassettes to arrive at the Chinatown rental shoppes. Full Story

All your nightmares are coming true. In a move that surprised no one, Disney chief Bob Iger announced that not only are they continuing Star Wars with Episode VII, but they’ll also make spin-off films of popular characters. EW is reporting that two of the projects are centered on the origin story of Han Solo and a “bounty hunter adventure” starring Boba Fett (the guy who hands Han over to Jabba the Hutt at the end of Empire Strikes Back). Full Story

I got yelled at yesterday after I posted this article about Jennifer Aniston on the set of her new movie, based on Elmore Leonard’s The Switch. The synopsis is very similar to Ruthless People. So there was all kinds of rage about how this project is a rip-off and why can’t anyone come up with any original ideas. Full Story

It’s a good week for Everwood alums. On the heels of the news that Emily VanCamp  landed the female lead in Captain America 2, it’s been announced that Chris Pratt, who also got his break on Everwood, won the coveted role of Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy. Full Story

This is not Four...yet

Some random website posted last week that Alex Pettyfer was confirmed for Four in Divergent and there were panicked emails going back and forth and... well... You must consider the source. The report was quickly shut down. Pettyfer is not Four...yet. He is one of the actors being considered but they’ve not made a final decision, and that leak last week further verifies that because it smells exactly like the kind of moves they all started making during the casting process for Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games. Full Story

Here’s a very blonde Jennifer Aniston in Greenwich, CT working on a new movie, “the untitled Elmore Leonard Project”. Last year it was announced that she and Dennis Quaid had signed onto a film adaptation of Leonard’s The Switch. Obviously they’re still trying to figure out what else to call it. Full Story

Kate Winslet was photographed in London yesterday shopping at Tesco in black-rimmed glasses wearing her wedding ring, the first time it’s been seen since she was confirmed to have married Ned Rock’nroll late last year. It’s also the first time she’s been seen since it was reported last week that she’s in talks to star in the film adaptation of Divergent which starts shooting this spring in Chicago. Full Story

Emily VanCamp makes the leap

Are you down with Emily VanCamp? I thought she was adorable on Everwood, and though I’ve gone off Revenge (the second season didn’t live up to the promise of the first), I like her as the cold-blooded Emily Thorne. But she seems to polarize people like few actresses do—either you think she’s a good actress or you don’t; there doesn’t seem to be a lot of middle ground happening with her. Full Story

The Super Bowl 2013 trailer scorecard

Sarah Posted by Sarah at February 4, 2013 15:56:04 February 4, 2013 15:56:04

Movie studios have taken to spending huge amounts of money for Super Bowl ad spots—they’re some of the biggest game day spenders—and with February just three months from the start of summer movie season, it’s the perfect time to start rolling out new trailers and footage for the upcoming blockbusters. Full Story

Daniel Craig’s Dragon Drama

Sarah Posted by Sarah at January 31, 2013 16:55:17 January 31, 2013 16:55:17

Despite generally positive reviews and five Oscar nominations, the English-language adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo didn’t bowl over the box office. Still, Sony announced they would go ahead with the sequels, which to me was always the point of remaking the Swedish films anyway. Full Story
