Written by Sarah The winner is... ATTACK THE BLOCK! When Lainey asked me to write up the box office for the weekend that was with Cowboys and Aliens and The Smurfs, I said, “Sure,” but I was thinking, “How can I make this about Attack the Block?” Because everything is about Attack the Block right now. Full Story

Crazy, Stupid, Stupid, Crazy

Written by Duana Now this is a story all about how you probably shouldn’t take me to the movies if the movie’s not a slam-dunk. Because I might be embarrassing. Sasha and I went to see Crazy, Stupid, Love (which I’m not sure needs that second comma AT ALL) with two friends of ours on opening night. Full Story

Handpicked by George

The Ides of March trailer was released yesterday after the poster came out the day before. George Clooney is the director and he adapted the screenplay with Grant Heslov but even though Clooney is the big name, the story is all Ryan Gosling. It all hinges on Ryan Gosling. And this is why George Clooney handpicked Ryan Gosling. Full Story

Bad trailer but it offers a glimpse

When you woke up today, did you think I’d compliment Robert Pattinson OVER Colin Firth? I am about to. So, in our ongoing review of new trailers I may have missed over the last week or so due to sh-tty wireless at Comic-Con, this is the one they’ve released for Bel Ami due in theatres.. Full Story

Bad movies people will see

More trailer analysis... I don’t actually know how a movie like New Year’s Eve keeps making itself. But now you know why Ashton Kutcher went back to television. Even he couldn’t stand this sh-t anymore. Let’s put the tall guy and the short girl together and make them kiss! What is it? It’s a series of cute formulaic movie scenes with so called Chick Lit snappy dialogue. Full Story

Un-Hear! Un-Hear!

Remember when Halle Berry won her Oscar and then made a piece of sh-t called Catwoman? Well, Main Street isn’t Catwoman, not quite, but, um, as Laura wrote to me yesterday, “I think that Colin Firth made a big, big mistake.” This trailer... it’s horrifying. More specifically, the accents, they are HORRIFYING. Full Story

Two halves of handsome

The same day that George Clooney’s The Ides of March was confirmed for the Toronto International Film Festival, they also released the first poster. Thoughts? I’m all over it. Totally into it. Is it a copy of something? I’m sure you know-it-alls will tell me. But even if it is, I think it’s wonderful anyway. Full Story

Long distance dating

Keeping a relationship together is hard enough without the pressure of fame, as Ryan Reynolds knows all too well. Add to that the massive amount of travel required for actors and you wonder how they manage to build any rhythm at all. I know this too, especially recently as my travel schedule this year has been all kinds of jacked and it’s really really a major commitment that you have to make to stay strong and connected during the absences. Full Story

Carey Mulligan TMNT & Ryan Gosling’s kiss

Stop! If you have to ask what TMNT is it means you might not get the story. I’d not seen Carey Mulligan in almost a year since last TIFF. Sometimes you forget how breathtaking they can be. She can be. She is. So much. It’s more than what she looks like, although that is truly, truly lovely – her delicate face, warm eyes, lips that always look like they want to laugh, and she really does shine with a short bright haircut. Full Story

Justin ... “Not”

That’ll make sense for you in a minute. Let me set the scene: Last night, as we do when we’re covering these festivals and conventions, we get together at the end of the night for some drinks before we hit the party. We compare stories – how was your day, who did you get, how was your interview, do you think you have enough b-roll? – and sometimes we agree and sometimes we disagree, and that’s normal because you can’t all get along with the same people and it’s a great way to exchange information and compare observations. Full Story

Daniel Craig:Cowboys, Aliens, Dream House & Pants

This is the new cover of Entertainment Weekly in advance of the release of Cowboys & Aliens which I want to see so badly. But...I'm not loving the way that Daniel Craig's pants are not hanging on him here next to Harrison Ford. You? Cowboys & Aliens is the first of two expected massive box office hits for Daniel this year. Full Story
