Tom Cruise: mysterious and lethal

This is the trailer’s message -- don’t f-ck with Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher because he’s all mystery and stealth killer moves that will hurt you in the night time but not if you’re a woman in his bed. At least that’s what I think it is, and that’s a hard sell; it was a hard sell even before Katie Holmes broke up with him in public and told Xenu to piss off. Full Story

If you ever want me to open an email in less than 5 seconds, use the subject line “Aaron Paul.” (Lainey: this is how I got Maria’s attention yesterday.) EW is reporting that he’s signed on for a DreamWorks feature, Need for Speed, based on an EA video game. Full Story

Here they on the Spanish steps and at the Piazza del Popolo while he gets the weekend off from shooting Third Person. Full Story

Les Miserables: the posters

Lainey Posted by Lainey at October 12, 2012 20:04:01 October 12, 2012 20:04:01

Four new posters for the upcoming Les Miserables -- THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIE OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON (Hobbit what?) -- have been released but... and you know how much I love Les Miserables ... I hate them. Hate the cheesy tag lines even if they’re germane to the story (Heart Full Of Love on a poster, I don’t care how hard you try to argue it, is never not eye-rolly) and hate especially how glossy the women are. Full Story

Granny’s green riding pants

Nicole Kidman was photographed today on horseback in Monaco in costume as Princess Grace. It’s a perfectly styled outfit, isn’t it? I mean, rich people already look rich when they’re on top of a horse. But this, this is an extra level of uppity elegance. I can almost smell the money coming off the photos. Full Story

Bruce & a fringed Zeta

Did you see RED? I liked RED! Am I dumb? Was I blinded by the Mary Louise Parker? I am partial to Mary Louise Parker. They're making a sequel now and she's in it, though not pictured. Rather, here's Bruce Willis with Catherine Zeta-Jones on the set of RED 2 today. That's a harsh fringe. Full Story

There’s very little Shelfy

The first trailer for Hitchcock was released yesterday. Remember what a big ass deal was made over the fact that Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel were cast in the film? Let me rephrase -- remember what a big ass deal Shelfy tried to make of the fact that she was cast in the film? I had the impression that after Sir Anthony Hopkins (pronounced AnTony by Gwyneth Paltrow) those two would be the leads. Full Story

See Granny as Grace

I believe these are the first shots of Nicole Kidman on set in Monaco as Grace Kelly. If this is a wig, it’s a very good one. Or did she take her extensions out? Princess Grace’s title, like that of her daughter-in-law Charlene, was Her Serene Highness. And Granny Freeze certainly looks serene here. Full Story

Lindsay Lohan is in a sexploitation flick because duh

Sarah Posted by Sarah at October 9, 2012 14:01:58 October 9, 2012 14:01:58

Or it looks like a sexploitation flick anyway. Penned by novelist and professional blowhard Bret Easton Ellis, directed by Paul Schrader (best known for writing Taxi Driver and Raging Bull), and funded largely by Kickstarter, The Canyons stars Lohan and James Deen as a couple caught up in sexual obsession and ambition (incidentally, I’m pretty sure that was the exact log line for Eyes Wide Shut). Full Story
