Written by Sarah Although, I suppose, there’s not that much left to ruin anyway. I am a sucker for old romantic comedies—and I mean old, like Bringing Up Baby or It Happened One Night—which is why I’m so hard on modern rom-coms. Full Story

Michael Bay, 3D, and the will of the artist

Written by Sarah Earlier this week Michael Bay sent a letter to the projectionists at movie theaters, imploring them to screen Transformers 3 with the 3D specs he specified. If you haven’t heard of this controversy: as 3D has gained popularity with filmmakers and audiences (though I would say that audience interest is waning), movie theaters have invested a ton of money into getting the newest and best in 3D technology—new projectors, new light bulbs, new lenses, special training for projectionists on how to operate the equipment. Full Story

Mission: Impossible 4 or, more accurately, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (What a Dumb Title), there’s a new trailer...with the sounds of Eminem complementing all the running, stunting, and stand-offing between Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner. (I used to hate the name Jeremy. Probably because I went to school with one and he was a smartass dick. Full Story

Good trailer, bad trailer with Immortals

Written by Sarah You ever see a trailer and it just makes you laugh? Not that the movie is funny, but that the trailer is SO BAD the only possible reaction is to laugh and laugh? Well that’s how I reacted to the new trailer for Tarsem Singh’s Immortals. Full Story

Beefy Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton are in Paris today to promote their movie Warrior. As you can see, Tom is... kinda beefy right now. He’s been working on The Dark Knight Rises. He will be the villain. Needless to say, at least without any makeup on, his villain looks like Bronson without the moustache. Full Story

Written by Duana I was getting a little nostalgic the other day. Found an early email from the boy. Among the sweet, early-in-the-relationship don’t-actually-mean-it things he said (‘cocktail onions for a snack? That sounds…interesting’) was “Oh, really? John Krasinski’s directing? Yeah, sure, I’d love to see that. Full Story

Emma Stone will be ready when the zombies come

Written by Sarah I was kind of talking myself out of believing that the dead will really rise against us one day, but then I spoke to someone on The Walking Dead about how they plan to unravel how the zombie plague started and damn if it didn’t sound totally plausible. Full Story

Madonna’s movie might be good

Did you hear about this? I’ve not had time to address it until now. But W.E., Madonna’s directorial effort about Wallis Simpson, was acquired by the Weinsteins. And, gulp, word is it might not suck. The source is a good one. A very reliable one. Not someone who gets pushed around by publicists and studios. Full Story

Pax with Dad

The Jolie visited Brad Pitt on the set of World War Z the other day with Miss Zahara and the Chosen One Shiloh. Yesterday it was Pax's turn to stop by. Here he is in his dad's arms. And I imagine some of you will be asking about the walking situation. Why not walk? I don't really mind it so much, no matter how old they are, if they're on an open street or the airport, out publicly, and the paps are around. Full Story

Penn Badgley is Jeff Buckley

Apparently James Franco was up for it for a while. Then there was all this talk about Robert Pattinson in the role. And he had also previously said he was rather interested too. Those who make casting decisions however had other ideas.... Lonely Boy? Dan Humphrey? Indeed. Penn Badgley has confirmed the role. Full Story

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are working on the film version of 21 Jump Street which... I don’t know how I feel about this. Is Channing Tatum supposed to be Johnny Depp? Admittedly, I’ve not endeavoured to find out too much about the project because...well... like you’re asking me to research a Channing Tatum movie? Really? Anyway, here they are shooting a scene that involves white tuxedos. Full Story
