It really bites my ass that I could only find very few photos of Kyle Chandler arriving at Letterman yesterday. Don’t they know this is our coach? Apparently the paps didn’t care. Maybe they’ll change their minds this weekend. This weekend is all about Super 8. They’re trying to make Super 8, brought to you by J. Full Story

Thelma & Louise were in Toronto last night to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film at an event in support of the Women’s College Hospital Foundation. I wish I could have been there. Did you go? Did you love it? They talked about the experience of making the movie, the reaction of people to the movie, and its legacy, if there is one. Full Story

When it’s done well, acting I mean, it’s so believable. I mean, for those of you who don’t think Leo’s into Blake and that they’re just playing, well, look how convincing he seems to be when he’s flirting with her in that church. (see next article) Here are Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper in Montreal yesterday, after blocking scenes for The Words in casual clothes, and then going into hair and makeup and wardrobe, it was time to shoot for real. Full Story

Written by Sarah Well, sorta. When I wrote about The Hobbit’s curse last October, I mentioned MGM’s money woes. At the time, they were on the brink of bankruptcy, unable to finance anything and struggling to hold onto their most valuable properties. Full Story

This is MUCH better

As noted in this post from last month, I did not have nice feelings for the first trailer for One Day. It was sh-t. A UK version of the trailer has since been released. It’s a lot better. It’s not great, but it’s a lot better. Her accent seems better. Full Story

X-Men: First Class

Everyone is wanking off to Michael Fassbender’s performance as Eric who becomes Magneto in X-Men: First Class and while I totally think he deserves it because he’s great, I do wish people would jerk off just as hard to James McAvoy too. It’s almost easier to play the prototypically tortured superhero with a shattered heartbreaking history and a thirst for vengeance that compromises his goodness. Full Story

The other day, the first trailer for the film was bootlegged online. I like it more and more every time I watch. The clip is now legal, I’ve attached below. Now they’ve released an international poster. It hasn’t gone over as well as the video, at least not for me. I’m not sure Blomkvist is supposed to be Lisbeth’s protector. Full Story

Last October, I posted this article with my nomination for President Snow in the film adaptation of The Hunger Games, Kiefer Sutherland. Today Lionsgate announced that it was indeed a Sutherland who has been cast as the evil autocrat of Panem but... Full Story

The adult movie renaissance

It started last year when limited-release arthouse films Black Swan and The King’s Speech gained some marathon legs and exploded into the mainstream. Full Story
