I posted an article late March about Wes Bentley – how great he looked in Spain promoting his new film There Be Dragons, and how candid he’s been about how he f-cked up his life after early success. Click here for a refresher, including his candid NY Times interview in which he details his struggle with heroin addiction, and how he lost everything and had to start over. Full Story

Better Stella and hot with Charlie

Stella McCartney’s designs were on display several times on Monday night at the Met Gala but the execution, well, it wasn’t great. Kate Hudson looked like a girl with a tramp stamp right out the trailer park, Gwyneth bored, Rashida’s purple lumpiness was a mess, Rihanna f-cked hers up with a braid, and Madonna complained publicly about looking fat. Full Story

Saoirse Ronan enters the Black Hole of Taste

Written by Sarah I think you all understand my disdain for the Twilight Saga as “literature”, and that I hold the movies to be only slightly better at best. I have zero respect for Stephenie Meyer as a writer. One of the few times I’ve ever been in synch with Oprah was when she had Meyer on her show and proceeded to treat Meyer like a housewife who won the lottery (which, basically, she did). Full Story

This trailer is (half) sh-t

Last summer I read a book called One Day. And I wrote about it incessantly afterwards. I was even optimistic when I found out they were making the movie, because David Nicholls is a screenwriter too, and One Day was easily adaptable. When they cast Anne Hathaway as Emma and Jim Sturgess as Dex, I was beyond excited. Full Story

Am very attracted to Andrew Garfield in these shots of him in New York shooting Spider-Man this weekend. I like the way he looks in those glasses. I like the way he’s wearing his pants. I like the way he’s working that skateboard. I like his hair, I like his gait, I like it all. Very encouraging. Full Story

Written by Sarah Doesn’t it seem like Jeremy Renner is getting the same role over and over again? After years of doing solid character work, Renner broke out with his Oscar-nominated role in The Hurt Locker. He played an Army explosives expert with a self-destructive streak. Full Story

They’re still casting for the Total Recall remake, expected to shoot in Toronto this summer. Colin Farrell is in place as the main dude and they’ve yet to secure the two female leads. A few weeks ago, we were led to believe that Jessica Biel had a shot at playing Colin’s ultimate love interest and that Kate Bosworth was asked to read for the part made famous by Sharon Stone – click here Full Story

I read the book like everyone else who reads books on lists. I thought it was … OK. It certainly didn’t change my life or anything. Found the ending rather underwhelming. And, well, I have some serious fundamental issues with it that, um, are probably best left to another discussion. So I guess I’m not as excited about the movie as others may be. Full Story

This is Prim

Her name is Willow Shields. THR confirms that she’s officially been cast as Prim in The Hunger Games. You like? I like that she’s pretty much a total unknown. I believe that Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss would need to protect her. I am happy, so happy, that it’s not Chloe Moretz or Abigail Breslin or whoever it was that everyone was speculating about. Full Story
