I don’t know if you noticed—I certainly did—but back in April when The Avengers press tour was going on, Jeremy Renner had the distressing habit of showing up to every major event in an incredibly shiny suit. Ruby Sparks opened in limited release this weekend. I haven’t seen it yet but really, really want to. For a few reasons: I love Zoe Kazan and she wrote it. I love Paul Dano (remember how wonderful he was in Little Miss Sunshine?). I love that Zoe and Paul love each other in real life. Full Story

With the summer superheroes out of the way, the next of the “most anticipated movies of 2012” is queued up and ready to go—Peter Jackson’s return to Middle Earth, The Hobbit. The film, subtitled An Unexpected Journey, is due in theaters in December. Part two, There and Back Again, is set for next December. Full Story

Cloud Atlas will premiere at TIFF. Have you read it? As I noted the other day - click here for a refresher - I was nervous about how it could be a film and at the same time, curious about how it would look as a film as imagined by the Wachowskis. Now an almost 6 minute trailer is online. Full Story

The following review is spoiler-heavy. Please click away if you haven’t seen the movie. It was a good movie. I don’t think it was a great movie. 7 out of 10. Sorry? And I don’t mean about the length although it was certainly too long for my taste, but the length wasn’t the problem. Full Story

These are the first shots of Jennifer Aniston in costume in North Carolina on the set of We’re The Millers. She plays a hooker enlisted by Jason Sudeikis to create a fake family on a cross country road trip to transport pot. Emma Roberts is the daughter. Jen, presumably, is the wife, and, predictably, they probably fall in love. Full Story

But first... Even though Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna won’t admit it openly, the two broke up a while ago. There were reports however that G was at MDNA in Hyde Park the other night. But no pictures. And she was confirmed to be at Pump in Chicago with Chris Martin just the day before. So. Full Story

Tracking for The Dark Knight Rises is very, VERY strong. Here we go. Can it challenge The Avengers? Right now they’re saying at least $185 million and it just might give Marvel a go to get to $200 million even though TDKR is not 3D. But why fight? Everyone is happy. Here they are, the happy cast of The Dark Knight Rises in London last night at the premiere. Full Story
