I Am Number Four opens in 3 weeks. Dreamworks is slowly cranking up the buzz for it. Click here if you missed my review. And as noted then, I think the movie will be better than the book. Because it was always supposed to be a movie, a giant James Frey mindf-ck of a scam. Full Story

Lionsgate sent out a press release yesterday confirming that The Hunger Games will hit theatres March 23, 2012 directed by Gary Ross. Shooting is to begin late Spring or early Summer. No cast has been announced. Last I heard they were holding auditions at the beginning of this month. And literally seeing anyone. Full Story

Rare smile for a rare night out

For some reason, several of my friends saw Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise together in Vancouver last weekend. All of them remarked that she looked wan and withdrawn, is quite thin, and seems miserable. There were no cameras around. Katie flew out of Vancouver yesterday though and last night was spotted out for dinner with some “friends” in Beverly Hills. Full Story

Roger Ebert offered this yesterday: "I suspect Justin Timberlake has an excellent chance for “The Social Network,” not only because he was wonderful, which he was, but because in some sense Academy voters consider themselves as the default casting directors for the Oscarcast and would like to add a hot young pop star. Full Story

Anne Catwoman, Shelfy misses out again

Anne Hathaway will be Catwoman. Of course she will. It’s an obvious choice. Maybe too obvious? The same 7 or 8 names are always up for the same roles. When it was announced yesterday, most reactions I heard were – oh yeah, yeah, I can totally see that. Which is good…and also bad. Good because Christopher Nolan isn’t f-cking around but bad because, well, Nolan is known to be someone who likes to f-ck around. Full Story

A lot of requests coming in lately for more Jesse Eisenberg. Here he is shooting 30 Minutes Or Less in LA yesterday. It’s a comedy. He apparently plays a pizza delivery guy who gets forced by two dumbass criminals to rob a bank within half an hour. Danny McBride is one of the dumbass criminals. Full Story

They’ve released a photo for the upcoming X-Men: First Class. Take a look. It’s AWFUL. It’s so much bad. There’s no imagination. And James McAvoy looks not great at all. Oh but there’s drama… The photo first leaked on Tuesday and almost everyone start sh-tting on it. Full Story

Written by Sarah I get so torn when writing about Sundance. On the one hand, it’s America’s top film festival, it serves an important role in promoting, encouraging and developing new talent in independent filmmaking, and it’s the last stand between film and total commercialization. Full Story

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by David Fincher

As you’ve probably seen, Rooney Mara covers the new issue of W Magazine as Lisbeth Salander. No complaints about the photos at all. She looks the part, totally. But the article is not about Rooney Mara. The article is actually about acclaimed director David Fincher who is running the show on the English language movie adaptation of the Millennium Trilogy. Full Story

Worst poster, worst title, worst trailer

In September I posted this about Kate Hudson’s new movie A Little Bit of Heaven. Dumbass title came with a dumbass poster. Look at Gael Garcia Bernal’s nose. Why is her mouth open? Who responds to this sh-t? WHY does she keep making the same movies over and over and over again? If you thought that the poster was misleading and that the movie would be different, you were wrong. Full Story

Written by Sarah January and February are traditionally where movies are sent to die. Reading the studios’ slates for January and February is like reading the obit section. “Atlas Entertainment is sad to announce that ‘Season of the Witch’ has died. Full Story
