Scandal Helps Saga

Lainey Posted by Lainey at October 3, 2012 14:47:22 October 3, 2012 14:47:22

The final poster for Twilight 5 was released yesterday. And word is advance ticket sales for the final installment in the franchise are outpacing Twilight 4 and all other films in the series. Needless to say, the Stewart/Sanders cheating scandal has not and will not hurt the saga’s box office performance. Full Story

There are three roles being cast by Marvel right now that are attracting a lot of attention. Two of them, Ant Man and the as yet unnamed “American Pilot” in Guardians of the Galaxy, we’re still a year or two away from hearing about. But the role of Captain America’s leading lady is in the final casting stages now as the film is scheduled to shoot in January. Full Story

Emma Stone arrived in Paris yesterday and hit up Miu Miu with a friend. The Miu Miu show is tomorrow. While Emma was photographed landing in France, Andrew Garfield was shot at LAX. They were together in New York just last Friday when Sony confirmed that there will indeed be a sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, setting up for what will eventually be a trilogy. Full Story

Michael Fassbender apparently had the day off from shooting The Counselor in Alicante, Spain today. He was photographed out for a walk with a friend. Since many of you are still really into him, those are for you. And these are for me -- Natalie Dormer unrecognisable as a blonde and not in costume as Anne Boleyn or half naked as Margaery Tyrell. Full Story

Lainey Posted by Lainey at September 28, 2012 15:21:41 September 28, 2012 15:21:41

Winnie opens in Canada on October 5. Here’s an exclusive clip from the film. There are people who think that scenes like these don’t happen anymore, that we have put all that behind us, that we’ve evolved, that it’s too uncomfortable to talk about, let’s think happy thoughts instead. Full Story

We’re on a couples roll here today; the first 4 posts have been couples-related. And I really want to keep this going because I’m lame with the theme thing but this is totally a cheat because Rooney Mara and Ryan Gosling aren’t a real couple, they’re just playing one in a Terrence Malick movie shooting in Austin. Full Story

I mean, obviously, who doesn’t love Jim on The Office? John Krasinski is cute—so tall!—and he’s adorable with Emily Blunt and he makes us laugh, so yes, of course, I know we all like him, in general. But The Office is ending. Entering its final season, it’s time for the series’ stars to start lining up their next gigs. Full Story

It’s seems a certainty right now, even though it’s early, that Ben Affleck’s Argo will be a legitimate contender for Oscar. He’s a skilled director. The actors are impressive. And the story is like porn for Oscar voters - that Hollywood had a hand in a dramatic covert international rescue. Full Story

Now that I think of it, Duana and I were gush-messaging each other back and forth a lot yesterday. Obviously much of the afternoon was spent on Les Miserables and that behind-the-scenes featurette that was released online. What? Of course I’ll repost it. I’ve only watched it 8 times. Anyway, there were a lot of ALL CAP sentences exchanged back and forth between Duana and me about how we can’t wait and how we’ll hold hands when we see it together and how we’ll each take turns crying and also much excitement over Anne Hathaway. Full Story
