You’re about to punch me. Because the Oscars just ended a little over a week ago and already I’m talking about next year’s awards. Before you go for my face though…wait! This is about Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, does that help? As you know, the two worked on Damian Chazelle’s Whiplash follow-up, La La Land, last year. Full Story

Elijah Wood and Nicolas Cage in THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER

Sarah Posted by Sarah at March 8, 2016 17:54:28 March 8, 2016 17:54:28

Elijah Wood used his Lord of the Rings juice to push through passion projects like the criminally underseen TV show Wilfred, and genre movies like the Maniac remake and Cooties. But apparently he’s grown tired of being a purveyor of fine niche entertainment and has entered the ironic portion of his career because he is willfully choosing to star in movies with Vin Diesel and Nicolas Cage. Full Story

I have never seen anything Zendaya has been in—she’s a Disney kid?—but I have seen her on red carpets and in interviews, and she strikes me as an above-average articulate young woman who does not suffer fools. Every time I have been made aware of her, I have been impressed, but it seems like her career to this point has largely been about kiddie entertainment for kiddies, with the occasional incursion into cultural awareness because she’s worn something stupendous Full Story

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris. They seemed happy. But not happier than Leonardo DiCaprio who celebrated his one week with his one true love, Oscar, in LA, out for lunch with friends. Full Story

Gerard Butler in London Has Fallen

London Has Fallen is a movie in which the leaders of several sovereign nations are explicitly and violently assassinated on camera. Then half the city of London is blown up—particularly, all the “known landmarks”, as opposed to all those unknown ones—and then we spend two hours watching as everyone in the movie is varying degrees of incompetent except for Gerard Butler. Full Story

Katie is not engaged

There’s a rumour going around that Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes are engaged because he was spotted wearing a ring. I don’t even need Gossip Cop to debunk it for me because that’s the dumbest make-a-story ever. He won’t even take her out in public. Full Story

What’s the meaning of “new”? Is it new the moment something is confirmed? Or is it only new when it begins? Sorry. That was a tangent… It was confirmed by both US Weekly and PEOPLE Full Story

Some people were wondering whether or not Brad Pitt would be at the Oscars since he’s a producer on The Big Short. It was a Brangeless Oscars. And many of you have written to say that this year’s Oscars were short on big glamour, big excitement. Did that have anything to do with it? Would it have made a difference if they were there? Oh please, come on. Full Story

The second of three Olympic-themed movies coming down the pipe—sandwiched in between Race and The Bronze—Eddie the Eagle is a charming crowd-pleaser about a perpetual loser who games the system to become an Olympian.
