Jennifer Aniston has been in New York the last week or so. She was photographed leaving her hotel today holding on to what looks like a script. As I mentioned the other day – click here for a refresher – Jen’s just confirmed several non-rom-commy roles. Full Story

Was just talking about Eddie Redmayne in the Brie Larson post earlier. And here he is. Well, here he was a couple of weeks ago (these photos are from September 26 but for some reason just released now) in London with his wife Hannah apparently house hunting. If they find something I’m not sure they’re really going to be able to spend all that much time there until next year. Full Story

Check out Brie Larson at the premiere of Room in LA last night. The film opens in limited release this weekend and then everywhere else the first weekend of November. Room has a shot at a Best Picture nomination. It won the People’s Choice Award at TIFF. And right now, Brie Larson looks like she’ll be one of the five names called out to contend for Best Actress Oscar. Full Story

Cary Fukunaga’s Beasts Of No Nation was screened at the Directors Guild Of America last night in LA as Netflix continues to push for award consideration. Abraham Attah was there to represent the cast but no Idris Elba – he’s probably still working on Star Trek, because otherwise, if not for scheduling conflicts, there’s no way he would miss time on the campaign circuit. Full Story

The third Thor movie—officially titled Thor: Ragnarok—is creaking into gear, moving inexorably toward its July 2017 release date. Seems far away, but that means it’s going into production next year, so, you know. Time to fire up the rumor mill. The unofficial word is that New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi—of Flight of the Conchords and What We Do in the Shadows fame—is in talks to direct Full Story

Quentin Tarantino is bummed he lost an Oscar, is not into TV

There is a new interview with Quentin Tarantino in the New York Times magazine, and by far the most annoying thing about it is that the interview is conducted by Bret Easton Ellis. QT actually manages to come off as the reasonable one here, mostly because the majority of the profile is Ellis humping QT’s leg. Full Story

Actually everyone shines in Brooklyn. Brooklyn was the first film I screened for TIFF. I sat in the theatre beside my friend Teri Hart and we just smiled at each other the whole way through. This film is sweet and warm and difficult and it’s kind. Full Story

I’ve been writing about Pride & Prejudice & Zombies almost as long as I’ve been writing for LaineyGossip. Once upon a time, it was developed as vanity project for Natalie Portman, but she ended up abdicating the role of Elizabeth Bennet—though she did stay on as a producer—and what followed was a merry-go-round of casting and director changes Full Story
