Check out Brie Larson at the premiere of Room in LA last night. The film opens in limited release this weekend and then everywhere else the first weekend of November. And right now, Brie Larson looks like she’ll be one of the five names called out to contend for Best Actress Oscar. Full Story

Cary Fukunaga’s Beasts Of No Nation was screened at the Directors Guild Of America last night in LA as Netflix continues to push for award consideration. The third Thor movie—officially titled Thor: Ragnarok—is creaking into gear, moving inexorably toward its July 2017 release date. The unofficial word is that New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi—of Flight of the Conchords and What We Do in the Shadows fame—is in talks to direct Full Story

I’ve been writing about Pride & Prejudice & Zombies almost as long as I’ve been writing for LaineyGossip. Once upon a time, it was developed as vanity project for Natalie Portman, but she ended up abdicating the role of Elizabeth Bennet—though she did stay on as a producer—and what followed was a merry-go-round of casting and director changes Full Story

About a year ago right now, Jennifer Aniston had just come off screening Cake at TIFF. No one bought the film at the festival but she figured out a way to get it distributed and then hired an Oscar strategist to help secure a nomination. She ended up at the Golden Globes and even the SAG Awards but the Academy still wasn’t interested. Full Story

Will Butler just released a new video for his song Anna. And it’s basically Emma Stone dancing her way around a cruise ship. As you can/will see, she’s delightful. And expressive, expressive in a way we haven’t seen much from her, which is saying something because Emma Stone is already pretty expressive. Full Story
