Hi Duana! Ever since I was little I've loved to think about names, but now that I'm due to give birth to my first child, a boy, this May....I'm stuck. It's a lot of pressure! My husband and I have been going back and forth with names. The last name is quite long (four syllables) and Italian, although it's spelled the Brazilian way, and ends in 'elli'. Full Article

Hi Duana, I had to google "twee" after you referred to my son's name as twee! It was your guess that Ryan and Blake would name their new lil one Greyson... which we had just done, so I know you may not be a fan of the name, but we love it and are now naming baby boy #2! (Of course that's because I had a billion girl names and no boy names). Full Article

Hi Duana, My husband and I are expecting boy-girl twins in early May 2016. We are super excited about this as the road to conception was anything but easy (IVF and the whole works....) and a LONG time coming...... We are a mixed-ethnicity couple, with me being a Euro blend and my husband being Punjabi but born and raised in the U. Full Article

Duana, Straight to the point, here is our short list of boy names Samson Dietrich Rex Do we have a winner here? We tend to gravitate towards strong hopefully non-pretentious names. I could go into detail why each of these mean something to us but that's not how names work. You hear them, make a judgement, and then if you get to know the person might find out why they were named. Full Article

Duana Names: Searching for Klarity

Duana! I’ve struggled my whole life to come to terms with my name because not only did my Chinese parents give me a French name that they can’t pronounce, they had to go and spell it differently! They did the same cruel thing to my sister. It’s been really fun hearing other people’s horror stories and also learning to embrace the different-ness of my name. Full Article

I have a twofer today because two letters came in that had such similar echoes of each other I thought, why not. Also, because just putting ‘Musical’ in the title will make Lainey scan suspiciously for references to THAT show… Hi Duana! We’re expecting our second, a boy, and made the mistake of telling a few relatives the name we were thinking of: Charles. Full Article

Hi Duana, My partner and I have been avoiding the "name game" like the plague. We cannot see eye to eye. We live in a bilingual part of the country, so a bilingual name is a must. With my first born, I waved the white flag right after I had given birth and my partner named our son Jack. Full Article

Hi Duana, I love your columns and feel that you have so much power over other name nerds that I yelled at you a year ago for overhyping our daughter's name, Anthea, because I wanted to keep it to ourselves. I must have made an impression because you mentioned my yelling in a subsequent column but thought that I was yelling at you for recommending Althea. Full Article
