Hi Duana, My baby girl is due in a week and my husband and I were all set to name her Julia. However, I've suddenly gotten a panic attack that "Julia" maybe too common a name. Especially since my husband is now considering "Catherine" as her middle name. I had preferred "Marlowe" as her middle name (since my husband's name is Marlon and I thought it would compliment nicely. Full Article

Duana~ Was hoping to get some advice about naming our baby girl. I'm 24 weeks pregnant and we are not finding out the sex before. We already have a boys name picked out, Maxon Leroy Barnhart. We cannot decide on a girls name. I can't decide whether or not we need to go in a more feminine route because Barnhart is a more harsh sounding last name or not? So far the only name we can come up with that we both like is Samantha. Full Article

Hi Duana, My sister learned she is pregnant recently and of course, she's thinking of baby names already. I believe the last time I asked her the names she had picked were Olivia Grace if it's a girl or Austin Bentley if it's a boy. I admit to liking Olivia Grace, but I'm not entirely sure if it's a good thing for a boy to be named after city and a luxury car. Full Article

Hi Duana, We are expecting our first child in two weeks - a boy. We are torn between two names: Charles (Charlie) and Finlay (Finn). We want a name that is strong with a bit of a preppy, old-school vibe, and we're confident that Charlie fits the bill. Is Finlay a super trendy name? There's no polite way to put this, but is it becoming the new Jayden, Jaxon, Braydon?? Your input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, C ____ It kills me that Jayden is the new Kristi. Full Article

I have a coworker who is having a baby.  The sex of the baby is unknown.  She is trying to come up with names. She needs assistance with picking a name for her second child.  If it is a boy she is pretty set with Sebastian Gideon or Sebastian Edward Robert with a two syllable last name that starts with G. Full Article

Hi Duana, My husband and I are expecting our first baby this fall, and we've decided not to find out if it's a boy or girl. We're set for boys names- have 2 that we both love in case we end up with 2 boys someday (Owen and Gareth), but we cannot agree on girls names. We're in agreement that it should be easy to spell, as my first name has so many possibilities I'm very empathetic to the plight of those with constantly misspelled names. Full Article

Duana Names: Rhymes with Sarah

I recently found out that I am pregnant with our first child. As we both have first names that include an "AR" sound - like in Sarah- we were thinking it would be fun to have children's names that included that sound as well, like Carrie or Mary.  I do think it's a little cheesy but it's just something that we're playing around with. Full Article

Duana Names: Niall's sister

Hi Duana! I just found out that I'm having a baby girl, which is awesome because of all the fun outfits I can get for her, but not so awesome in the sense that we are totally stuck on the name front. If this baby was a boy, his name was going to be Niall. We plan to have more children in the future, and it is pretty much guaranteed that any future son would be called Niall, so I guess we should try to match a girl's name to Niall ''just in case'' we have a boy? Our biggest dilemma is we aren't sure if that means it has to be Irish; we have no Irish blood, just adore the name Niall after hearing it pop up on a friend's baby name list (they didn't use it!). Full Article

Duana Names: Doubling Up In The Middle

So we are expecting baby # 2 (don't know the sex) and my husband and I can't agree on the number of middle names to give the second kiddo. Our daughter's name is Neve Kailey Dawn (I wanted to name her Niamh, but my husband won out on the pronunciation - like Neve Campbell). We have settled on Ronan for a boy and Ione for a girl (do these names match with Neve? It's a hard name to match with), but the middle names are a problem. Full Article
