The New York Ballet Fall Gala happened last night. A few big names showed up at the event. Let’s break them all down separately:
Natalie Portman with Benjamin Millepied
She’s in Dior, obviously, as she represents the brand. The most distinctive feature of this otherwise ordinary strapless gown is the texture. I wish I could feel it. Because if it’s foam, like the very thin layer of padding you find in electronics boxes, I’m all over it. You know how comfortable that sh-t is? My dogs sleep on it all the time. God but she is beautiful, non? Those eyes! They’re so warm and sexy and innocent all at the same time.
Portman and Millepied are moving to Paris soon from LA. He’s scheduled to assume the title of Director of Dance at the Paris Opera Ballet next fall, a position some dance gossips say is as much about her as it is about him.
Sarah Jessica Parker
SJP’s wearing a dress designed by both Prabal Gurung and Olivier Theyskens. And you can tell. Because it’s a mess. First of all, it’s wrinkled all over. Next, the chest is falling. Look at it. There are FOLDS IN THE BREASTS. How is this advanced design? And the napkin tucked into her back wouldn’t work around the waist, so I don’t see how turning it around is going to make a difference. Terrible.
It’s Chanel, by marital association. It’s a little…matronly, don’t you think? Especially since the shoes are so boring. More on Drew in the next article…
