Okay, you can yell at me. Scream all you want, but I do not hate this! I said early on, on our group text, that she was 60% of the way to becoming Miss Havisham, and I then heard it on Twitter, too. This look is McQueen and it’s streelish and bananas and her hair is all over the place…

…but you guys, I don’t hate it. It’s not boring. And she’s leaning into it! She’s becoming a thing, leaning into a particular look, unlike some people she shared the stage with about whom I had thoughts, and if this is how Nicole Kidman wants to spend her 50s, trailing further and further into what’s a costume that’s juuuuust this side of ‘confirmed eccentric’, I am super into it.

Because, of course – and it’s so hard not to notice – she seems really happy. Is it not ridiculous what a difference that makes? This woman has me endorsing her cold-shoulder-puffed-sleeve-fever-dream because I’m so happy she’s happy.
