Great Dress, Bad Form: Amanda Seyfried

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 8, 2010 07:19:38 March 8, 2010 07:19:38

Post By Duana I know Lainey's mentioned Amanda Seyfried being maligned by her publicist at TIFF. That she wasn't allowed to say certain things or got criticized for mentioning certain things. This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but um, maybe it's for a reason. Watching her with Seacrest, he opens with "So you're leaving Big Love?" The correct answer here is "[My Character's] story came to an end" or "They were so good to let me have so much time off for projects but it got too hard" or even "It was just time to move on". Full Story

Worst Pouf: Zoe Saldana

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 8, 2010 07:11:33 March 8, 2010 07:11:33

Post By Duana My friend Lara and I have a phrase when we think we might be overdressing. We remind each other that "It's not the prom". Which is a nice reminder that you don't have to wear ALL of the things all of the time. But I recognize that the Oscars IS the prom. It is absolutely the most important day to wear the most outlandish or beautiful or crazy thing you can get away with, and know that there's literally no way to be overdressed. Full Story

Best Man Spanx: Gerard Butler

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 8, 2010 06:55:48 March 8, 2010 06:55:48

I noted on Twitter that Spittle was looking decidedly leaner last night. Almost svelte. Carb-free for the last week? Perhaps. Or the assistance of a little man spanx? This was what many of you have suggested. I agree. Picture Spittle in a nude coloured full body belly sucker. It’s kind of my favourite visual. Full Story

Worst Golden Mom: Sarah Jessica Parker

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 8, 2010 06:36:51 March 8, 2010 06:36:51

Post By DuanaSo much gold tonight. I mean, hilarious show gold in the form of Ben Stiller and others barely hiding their mock of James Cameron, and in Tina Fey reading action lines from the script of Up, but it's more about the dresses. And while Sandra Bullock’s may or may not have been your thing, it was. Full Story

Best Madonna accent: Tom Ford

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 8, 2010 06:27:07 March 8, 2010 06:27:07

I spoke to him at the Spirit Awards on Friday night. Of course I was secretly hoping for a rejection. Instead, he couldn’t have been lovelier. Like, really, really lovely. Very enthusiastic, great energy, gracious, and articulate. And the same affectation as Madonna. They are American. And they speak with this. Full Story

Longest on the carpet: Mimi walks so slow

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 8, 2010 06:19:30 March 8, 2010 06:19:30

Mimi’s tits weren’t pouring out of her dress. Like, Michelle actually described it as “demure”. Shocking development. Had to lie down for a while to process it. Because two nights before at the Spirit Awards, Mimi pretty much stuffed herself into a short black number and as a result, we actually couldn’t breathe for her. Full Story

Best Presenters: Tina Fey & RDJ

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 8, 2010 06:12:19 March 8, 2010 06:12:19

Post By Duana Do you know how many times Tina Fey gets asked about how hard she works, and how she balances being a working wife and mother? She gets asked constantly. Now, I'm of two minds about this. I could go off about how nobody ever asks a man how he does it all, because it's assumed that he just. Full Story

Most Overplayed: Cameron Diaz

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 8, 2010 06:06:58 March 8, 2010 06:06:58

I spent a long time getting lost in admiration for Cameron Diaz while she was posing at the 2nd photo wall. This girl is a pro. Didn’t really care for the dress either way, or the one she wore to Vanity Fair, but to watch her working the camera – it comes naturally, unlike Renee Zellweger, and when you see it unfolding, you know Cammie D was born for this. Full Story

Best f-ck you to Ebola: Nicole Richie

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 8, 2010 05:45:42 March 8, 2010 05:45:42

Ebola Paris Hilton will not be invited to the Oscars. There’s no f-cking way. That piece of sh-t can’t even step into an Oscar party. A few years ago, the same could be said of Nicole Richie. But now you see the power. The power of the motherhood whitewash. To her credit, Nicole’s transformation from anorexic twat to responsible parent and entrepreneur has been nothing short of remarkable. Full Story

Best Freakout - Tie: Random Producer/Vivica A. Fox

Lainey Posted by Lainey at March 8, 2010 05:22:11 March 8, 2010 05:22:11

Post By Duana Generally speaking, the Roosevelt is where the media get ready, and then charge across the street to the red carpet. Which means at 2:30 PM, there's an incredible bottleneck for the two (small!) elevators because of course everyone is getting ready on every floor and heading downstairs. Full Story
