They did a bit last night about how Neil Patrick Harris might have hosting fatigue. I can’t remember the exact name for it but you get the point. I’m not sure they actually got the point though because it was really just meant as a gratuitous promotion for How I Met Your Mother, which, as Duana said, dominated the entire show, at the expense of a lot of fresher shows. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

Welcome to the Emmys 2013 Live-Blog! It's been a while since we've done this. And, frankly, I still don't know what to do about Breaking Bad. So if you find Duana talking to herself for 75 mins, that's what happened.  Read Full Intro

Dear Gossips,

What’s your plan for the Emmys? Specifically, what’s your plan for the Emmys and Breaking Bad? The final two episodes of Breaking Bad will run 75 minutes. That’s over 30% of the Emmys. And this is when the West Coast time zone would be an advantage. If I still lived in Vancouver, I’d be able to watch both and finish before 10pm and get a head start writing through the night.

Full Emmys coverage is coming on Monday. My hope for Julie Bowen is that she stays away from taffeta. My hope for Michael Douglas is that he shows up dripping in rings and holding a puppy. My hope for Walter White is that … I don’t actually know what I hope for Walt. Why should Walt get any hope?

Have a great weekend!

Yours in gossip,

Lainey

The New York Ballet Fall Gala happened last night. A few big names showed up at the event. Let’s break them all down separately: Natalie Portman with Benjamin Millepied She’s in Dior, obviously, as she represents the brand. The most distinctive feature of this otherwise ordinary strapless gown is the texture. Full Story

Read this article about JK Rowling discussing her life as a single parent. Though I don’t know the organization Gingerbread of which she’s president, it doesn’t seem hard to understand what it’s about – the general promotion and support of single parents. Full Story

Today is the final (official) day of Mid-Autumn Festival. Or Moon Cake Festival. It started on Wednesday when we welcome the full moon. Yesterday we gathered with family. Today we say goodbye to the moon. It’s a big holiday in Chinese culture. As I mentioned earlier this week, it’s like our Thanksgiving. Full Story

Not that suit. But a wool suit. In London on the set of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and not the Man Of Steel. Ha! (Sorry) Guy Ritchie is directing the movie based on the old TV show. Tom Cruise was originally cast in the film and Cavill stepped in when he dropped out. Most random replacement ever. Full Story
