Mimi recently announced that she’s pushing back her new record release. The reason she gave is creative – she needs more time to work her magic. The reason being speculated is that #Beautiful didn’t sell as well they’d hoped. Did you like CBS’ modern version of Sherlock Holmes, Elementary? I’m devoted to the BBC Sherlock, but I liked Elementary well enough. I didn’t feel the need to watch it every week, but it didn’t linger long on my DVR, either. I did think Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu made a good Holmes/Watson, and it occurred to me, when Natalie Dormer made her entrance as Irene Adler and Elementary took an unexpected leap to the left with how it unwound the Moriarty mystery, that Elementary is the first network drama to respond directly to the pressures being put on network TV by cable. Full Story

Haven’t posted about Mandy Moore in a long, long time. It’s been a career of fits and starts. There was a television pilot a while back. Seemed promising but then when they started to get into it, she wasn’t right for the part and was replaced. Shortly after she landed another pilot called The Advocates but then CBS passed and even though it was being offered around elsewhere, so far no one has picked it up. Full Story

I believe I said on the Tony Awards live-blog that NPH was not truly going to be appreciated for being the renaissance man that he is until he turned 40, with peak appreciation for his awesome, awesome stardom coming when he’s 50.
