One month ago today – Monday – is when she had the baby. A BABY. She was completely and totally pregnant (and striding around Toronto, I thought he was going to be Canadian) and then this is the result a week later. I mean, I don’t know what to say except that’s genetics and discipline and commitment to your goals, and this happens sometimes. Full Story

Best Globes Colour: Jessica Alba

Just the colour. Only the colour. Really great colour. The dress I could do without; it’s a Dior and I’m not sure why Dior failed so miserably last night (see also upcoming Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard). Also the goddamn fishtail. And ...is that a muppet or a clutch? Put Jessica Alba in the category too of people who were there but we don’t know why they were there. Full Story

Most Attentive – Connie Britton

I think it is fair to say the director made some weird choices last night. Not just failing to shoot Ben Affleck when Jennifer Lopez talked or not giving me a picture-in-picture of Taylor Swift the whole time Adele was talking. I mean, did you see how many shots there were of Jack Black?  But I can’t get too mad at the director because of all the shots we saw of Connie Britton. Full Story

It is hurting me how few photos were taken of Ewan McGregor last night. They were saving their digital cards for...I dunno, Bradley Cooper? NO! If Ewan McGregor and Bradley Cooper are on the same carpet, always, always go with Ewan McGregor. You can never go wrong with Ewan McGregor. Look at Ewan McGregor. Full Story

My dear women of Hollywood, You may find yourselves surprised to be getting this award, for each of you has long, beautiful flowing tresses that you’re known for. You may find me harsh in saying that you made a mistake with your hair, when you have long golden locks, and I have long struggling locks with a bump where I didn’t dry the crown completely enough. Full Story

Best Globe Cap Sleeve: Sally Field

Love the cap sleeve. The cap sleeve works at any age. It worked for Reese Witherspoon at her first Oscars, it works for Sally Field here at her, I dunno, how many Golden Globes has she attended? The colour is lovely on her. And the cleavage too. And her face isn’t jacked. And at 66 she still lights you up inside when she smiles. Full Story

Globe Gold: Emily Blunt

Is it me, or is there something up with Emily Blunt? She looked beautiful, which isn’t really remarkable for her at all. She wore a dress with cutouts, which is kind of annoying because she wore a dress with cutouts last week, but that’s splitting hairs. And she’s a little bit – just a touch – all one colour. Full Story

It’s now impossible to tell a Versace apart from a Cavalli. You know who this dress is for? This dress is for people who graduate in style from Ed Hardy. This dress is the natural progression. Why is Halle Berry dressing like she’s Christian Audigier’s wife? Check how it’s billowing on the right side of her chest, making it look like she’s swollen in one breast. Full Story

So she just emailed Tom Ford and asked him to make her a dress. And he did, using the hard shoulders from Gwyneth Paltrow’s white Oscar cape but making black the main focus, with white accents to flatter. How great does that look from the side, where the white cuts into the leg and gives you the illusion that it might be a pair of pants? And the back. Full Story

I haven’t seen CZJ out in a long while, and I know part of that was because she had some stuff to sort out, and I am delighted that she took the time to do so and that she looks as gorgeous as she ever did.   Because I am basically a navel gazer, when she came onscreen the first thing I said was “Hey it’s my wedding dress!”  It’s not exactly, but really close, and I was so focused on this doesn’t-matter detail that I missed the singing altogether. Full Story

Two Black Smash – Debra Messing and Katharine McPhee

When I first saw Katharine McPhee’s dress I thought it might be midnight navy instead of black and I was infinitely more interested, but even in black the Theyskens Theory dress is very smart, certainly the best of the boob slings. It’s not all the way overwhelming, but maybe she and her costar Debra Messing thought it was best to ease us back into the idea that Smash is going to loudly and unfortunately invade our lives in just a few weeks. Full Story
