Don Cheadle worked for years to get his Miles Davis biopic, Miles Ahead, made. Part of the uphill battle was that he not only wanted to star as Davis, he wanted to write and direct as well. Well his long slog to the finish line paid off, as Cheadle makes his feature film directorial debut with Miles Ahead, in which he stars and also co-wrote (with Steve Baigelman, who also worked on the James Brown biopic, Get On Up). Full Story

Kelly Clarkson’s son has arrived, and has been named Remington Alexander, younger sibling to River Rose, and to Brandon Blackstock’s older children, Savannah and Seth. Clearly there’s some alliteration love going on here, since Remington goes with River as Savannah goes with Seth. Full Story

Every couple of years ago, I get re-obsessed with Truman Capote. When I do, I go back and read everything. I read his books. I read the biographies. I re-watch the interviews. And I always, always fantasise about the Black and White Ball. Truman is one of the few legitimate writer-celebrities.
