Dear Gossips,

The Master and Argo solidified contender status at TIFF, and in particular, The Master’s record-breaking limited-release box office this weekend should guarantee the film’s nominations. A surprise qualifier emerging out of Toronto however is The Silver Linings Playbook, announced as the festival’s Blackberry People’s Choice Award, in recent years a harbinger for Best Picture.  Read Full Intro

This is for Maria who’s mad at me because I’ve yet to email her back about Aaron Paul at TIFF which is not even half as interesting (and mostly hilarious) as these photos of Aaron Paul front row at Burberry (I’ll post the full collection to LifeStyle Full Story

Photo Assumption: Mimi vs Minaj

Please! Let it be January! And let them edit this the way we all want to see it -- f-ck the appearance of being nice and diplomatic. I mean, this is why our Mimi was asked to be a judge, right? Not because she’s particularly interested in finding a new superstar but because she’s only interested in us paying attention to the ONLY superstar worth mentioning: HER, of course. Full Story

TIFF Review: Much Ado About Nothing (and a few other things)

I’ve done this movie a great disservice and I feel very guilty about it. I sat down to watch Joss Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing towards the end of the film festival. Bad idea. You see, what’s both exciting and completely soul sucking about the Toronto International Film Festival is that there are always movies to see and places to be. Full Story

The photo agency has labelled this Romy Hero but Romy was born in January and, though I’m no expert on babies, I’m pretty sure an 8 month old baby can’t be this big. So... it’s Wylda Rae then, right? I’m going with Wylda Rae. Here’s half my obsession, Aaron Taylor-Johnson on the Toronto set of Kick-Ass 2 yesterday. Full Story

Scarlett Johansson did this once, remember? She put a sign up over her face about how she was being “harrassed” (sic) by the paps. Click here to see those photos. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have modified that move by not complaining about the pictures but using the opportunity to promote their favourite charities. Full Story

Michael Fassbender, comedy guy?

After a huge 2011 and a hot start to 2012, Michael Fassbender is on a down beat, with nothing coming out for months and nothing to do but work and I don’t know…throw rocks at fish, or whatever he does for fun. (And please don’t email me to explain what The Fassbender gets up to on his down time—I like not knowing. Full Story

Keira covers Vogue less seriously

Lainey Posted by Lainey at September 17, 2012 16:59:49 September 17, 2012 16:59:49

I remember a writing about Keira Knightley a few years ago, back when she was all morose and dark t-shirty, stuck in that predictable phase they all go through between 20 and 25 when everything seems so bleak and every day is a suicide song. Naturally I got shouted down about not understanding and having no compassion because, I dunno, being famous is hard or something. Full Story

The Tale Of Two Jessicas

Duana Posted by Duana at September 17, 2012 16:27:26 September 17, 2012 16:27:26

I suffer from entertainment news fatigue or maybe ADD. The cycle of pop-culture news stories, which flows from the first time you read a story when your dad finally mentions he heard something on Jay Leno, can be excruciatingly slow. Ordinarily I wouldn’t try to swim against the current and have still more to say about something that’s been well-discussed elsewhere. Full Story

First pictures of Blake Lively since she scooped the whole world last week, marrying Ryan Reynolds in South Carolina last Sunday, surprising everyone including PEOPLE Magazine which found itself in an unfamiliar position: not only not having a celebrity wedding exclusive but not even being invited to the party in the first place. Full Story
