So what you’re saying is that you want your Oscar...?

Brad Pitt was interviewed by 60 Minutes in Australia. When Beyonce interviewed with the same outlet, her baby bump became a worldwide conspiracy. It’s not quite the same this time with Brad Pitt. Having said that, when it comes to Brange, there’s always an ulterior motive, isn’t there? (Well, maybe Ann Full Story

The Vampire Diaries Season 3 Episode 9 recap Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes.   This is the kind of fun I want to see on this show!  Everyone’s in one place, people are operating at cross-purposes, there are layers and layers.   My only real complaint is that Rebekah was taken out of the action so early, since we know she’s far more entertaining to listen to than Klaus is. Full Story

This is not a love story

You’re goddamn right, motherf-cker. The first full length trailer for The Hunger Games has been released. I.LOVE.IT.No, it’s not perfect. Haymitch’s wig is a problem. I’m not sure about Katniss’s prom dress on American Idol there, either. But these are minor, minor, minor complaints. What’s important, the most important, is tone. Full Story

Not that this Casper Smart fellow isn't nice; I'm sure he's very. Just...you know JLo. With her first two marriages, it was so BELOW stature. Ojani Noa, Cris Judd... she has this habit of going no-name when, for the good of gossip, she should be going Full Name, especially when Full Name used to be Ben Affleck. Full Story

The Walking Dead episode 5: In which things get impossibly worse

The Walking Dead season 2 episode 5 recap Another cold-open flashback, this time of a traffic jam that shows us the survivors finding each other on the highway. Revisiting Carol’s horrid husband, I’m still glad he got eaten by zombies in season one. We see the military napalming the streets of Atlanta, Redeker-styles. Full Story

Meryl Streep was in London today for the unveiling of the poster for The Iron Lady with the film’s director Phyllida Lloyd. Streep’s portrayal of Margaret Thatcher is expected to earn her yet another Oscar Best Actress nomination. I wasn’t really feeling the teaser trailer that was released in July. As I noted at the time Full Story

Ringer Season 1 Episode 8 recap So…we come in on Bridget, terrified, watching this ultrasound, which is amazing.   Also, if it’s her ‘first’ ultrasound,  let me just say that this is an unusually genteel way to um, check stuff.  Thanks, preggo friends, for filling me in on that particular indignity. Full Story

Jacek and I were in London on Remembrance Day. We walked by the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey. There are so many poppies. Too many poppies. It’s... quite an arresting visual. For the Royal Family this was a significant weekend as the symbols of a nation to lead their people in remembering the fallen. Full Story

November 14, 2011 - Smutty Shout-Outs

Lainey Posted by Lainey at November 14, 2011 14:11:45 November 14, 2011 14:11:45

Stephanie! I’m sorry I missed your birthday on Friday! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! How was Vancouver? And Whistler? BC boys are hot, non? Hope you had a wonderful west coast weekend! Happy 28th Birthday Heather with love from Megan who says…you’re not excited? Because of the number? WHAT??? How about a little “horn dog” Matt Lauer by request to get you out of your buzzkill? Obviously the first photo is my favourite because, in the background, look, it’s papayas! And for Carmela from New Jersey on your 26th birthday…and you have a test. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

November in London to me for the last few years has always been about Harry Potter. And today is the DVD release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I was here last year for the beginning of the end. Now that the end is passed, it’s time to relive it. Always! For supergeeks like me, that means watching and rewatching the deleted scenes and the DVD extras.

Remember when you fist-pumped at Harry’s return to Hogwarts? When he emerged to confront Snape and they all gathered behind him like, “yeah motherf-cker? Do you want to go?”

Please. I have a lump in my throat just thinking about.

Here, in an exclusive clip from the DVD, they show you how that scene came together.

“Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”

Lainey

Dear Gossips,

As expected, most of your mail yesterday was about Mimi’s 30 pound weight loss resulting in her size 4/6 as IF body. Mimi being Mimi, there’s so much more.

Curiously, very few of you were yelling at me about Sienna Miller as an option for Princess Grace. In fact, support messages outnumbered the angry ones. I’m attributing this to Blake Lively. You’d now rather anyone over Blake Lively. Even Sienna Miller.

Re: the CMA Awards - most of the photos from the CMA event carpet will be posted directly to LifeStyle including Carrie Underwood, Nicole Kidman, Faith Hill, etc. Please hit up LifeStyle through the day to see those shots and for all of Sasha’s “Finds” posts today. There will be 3.

We’re saying goodbye tonight to Dubai. God I love the Burj Al Arab. I mean, we didn’t play tennis on the helipad or anything but it’s such a beautiful building, truly a work of art. Not only does it look like a sail, but in the daylight, you can almost see it moving. When something made of glass and concrete has that much texture, how can you not be awed? And at night? It’s glorious.

We also went to a rooftop bar where I felt like I was in a pub on Tatooine.

Next stop: London! And the Christmas lights are on now, right?

Please note that Jacek and I are wrapping up our holiday. As such, I will not be blogging tomorrow, Friday November 11th.  I am very, very sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.  Next week it’ll be totally back to normal.

Have a great weekend!

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
