Gina Carano’s fake Haywire voice

Gossip is a buffet and today we’re serving three entrees.Steven Soderbergh’s new movie Haywire opens this weekend. It stars MMA star Gina Carano. I’m not an MMA fan nor had I ever heard of Gina Carano until Haywire came about, so I didn’t notice anything wrong with the trailer until I saw on TMZ that Carano’s part—her ENTIRE part—was dubbed over in the final cut of the movie. Full Story

The GOOP Guide To Business

Lainey Posted by Lainey at January 20, 2012 18:04:54 January 20, 2012 18:04:54

This week’s GOOP is all about how to manage and maintain an internet business. Interestingly enough, while she recruits the advice from “founders of innovative, disruptive companies that we admire and find intriguing”, she offers nothing in the way of how she is managing and maintaining her internet business. Full Story

Okay,  I was walking my dog this week when it suddenly occurred to me that I feel, somehow, like the fourth of the four coffins is Katherine. I get tired of thinking about who-all the Klaus relatives are, but I can wish, right?  So this week was my favourite kind of Vampire Diaries. Lots of emotions and feeling, fewer hearts actually hitting the floor. Full Story

I know that quoting Yoda isn’t going to help my whole “no really, I’m not this nerdy” thing, but it’s strangely apropos. On Tuesday, Lainey posted this about the “You can do anything!” sketch from last weekend’s SNL, hosted by Daniel Radcliffe. Lainey noted the line, “I tried and therefore no one should criticize me,” which was my favorite line in that sketch, too. Full Story

Wenn, Bauer

Jude Law was walking around in a hat for a while and said something offhand somewhere about a bad haircut and there arose some speculation that he’d had the plug. Or work. Whatever it is that can be done. As you can see in these recent shots, nothing has changed. Jude isn’t growing anything that wasn’t already growing. Full Story

Carey in 3D

Lainey Posted by Lainey at January 20, 2012 15:42:48 January 20, 2012 15:42:48

Speaking of Carey Mulligan, according to current scheduling, and that can always change but let’s hope not, her 3D Daisy will go up against Anne Hathaway’s 2D Fantine as both The Great Gatsby and Les Miserables are expected to open in December. (See previous Anne Hathaway post for reference.) What will Carey look like in 3D?Well if it’s anything like she looked last night on the carpet at the London Film Critics’ Circle Awards. Full Story

I know you’ll want to fight me when I say that I love what she’s wearing here, seen yesterday leaving lunch in Hollywood. It’s certainly not something that would appeal to my husband. Not at all. But then again, you know my thoughts on dressing for men vs dressing for women. To me, it’s a greater compliment when it’s coming from a girl. Full Story

John & Carolyn nostalgia

Lainey Posted by Lainey at January 20, 2012 14:30:32 January 20, 2012 14:30:32

I was obsessed with John F Kennedy Jr and Carolyn Bessette. OBSESSED. God I loved staring at photos of them together. They were intoxicating. And even through all his romantic shenanigans, when she showed up, it was as though she’d been designed - this is exactly what JFK Jr’s wife should look like. Perfect, right? All of it but for the ending. Full Story
